R-Truth shocked the world when he returned to WWE at the 2025 Money in the Bank PLE after initially being released from the company. The 53-year-old star has adopted a serious gimmick, dropping his goofy persona and might end up forming a team with a former champion to go against management.
Fans hijacked WWE after R-Truth confirmed his departure from the company, ultimately motivating the Stamford-based promotion to rehire the veteran. The latest edition of RAW saw Killings again appear from the crowd, hijacking the show and delivering an intense promo, during which he notably cut his hair.
In a shocking twist, Ron Killings might team up with former NXT Champion Karrion Kross, who is also a massive fan favorite, not getting the spot he deserves. His contract with the company is also set to expire this summer.
Kross reportedly hasn’t yet received a new deal, putting him in a similar position to where Truth was before his initial departure. The two could team up and expose the company's bitter backstage politics, rebel against WWE management, and target everyone involved in controlling the company.
Moreover, Kross has also voiced how some people get favors, and hardworking people like him end up getting nothing. Their story arcs align well, and they, as a team, could do wonders.
While the angle might sound realistic, the scenario suggested above is speculative, and nothing has been confirmed.
Former WWE veteran expressed that R-Truth’s promo ruined his new persona
While speaking on Sportskeeda's Legion of RAW, former WWE writer and veteran Vince Russo pointed out flaws in R-Truth’s RAW promo on the red brand.
Russo expressed that Truth should have talked about how he wasn’t getting a deal because of his age. The veteran believes that the WWE Universe would have related to that story arc more.
"Let's look at Truth tonight. The whole speech on top of the table. Bro, if I'm a casual fan, I don't know what he's talking about. So, Truth, why don't you just say, 'They weren't going to renew my contract because I'm 53 years old.' Say now, oh I understand ageism, 53, by the fact that he's given 53, people are saying, 'Holy cr*p, he's 53.' Now, all of a sudden, they're behind Truth because he's 53. But the story he told, if I'm a casual fan who is not online, I don't know what he's talking about." [From 10:45 onwards]
It will be interesting to see what plans the Triple H-led creative team has for Ron Killings next.
