Most normal human beings across the world do not look like Drew McIntyre. In fact, if you saw the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania, you probably saw that Drew McIntyre even towers over Brock Lesnar and he is not really a small man by any means at all.
So, if someone like Angel Garza or even Austin Theory would have shown up to challenge Drew McIntyre, the outcome of the match would have been obvious even before it took place. And yes, we all knew that Drew McIntyre would not lose the WWE Championship so soon after winning it at WrestleMania 36, but because The Big Show is a giant, there's always that element of doubt in the minds of fans.
The Big Show is one of the last few giants remaining in the world and unless someone new comes along to claim his spot on RAW (with Braun Strowman on SmackDown), he will always have a special place in the roster. It makes sense why he challenged Drew McIntyre shortly after WrestleMania 36 was done.
