The 2019 Royal Rumble is under a week away and it's promising to be a memorable pay-per-view. Royal Rumble is one of the most exciting PPVs in WWE's calendar, with the over-the-top-rope battle royal being the highlight of the PPV.

This year, like in 2019, will see the women's Royal Rumble match, with the winner getting an opportunity to face either the RAW or SmackDown champion, while the men's match winner will get a shot at the Universal title or the WWE title.

A strong showing in the Royal Rumble PPV could be a great set up for the rest of the year for any Superstar, and this year is no different.

But there are a few things that should not happen in the 2019 Royal Rumble, either for a Superstar's career, or to make the show an exciting one.

Here are 5 things that should not happen at the 2019 Royal Rumble:

#5 Nia Jax winning the Women's Royal Rumble

Nia Jax
Nia Jax

Nia Jax currently has a lot of heat from the WWE Universe after her action before Survivor Series, where she injured and put out of commission Becky Lynch, the then SmackDown Women's Champion.

WWE seem to have used that accident in the ring, where she busted open Lynch, into Jax's gimmick to get her more heat. Although it has worked in the past, I feel that it isn't currently for Jax.

Jax will not come face-to-face with Becky Lynch, as the former SmackDown champ will face off Asuka, and her biggest competition in the Women's Royal Rumble match is Charlotte Flair.

WWE will make a huge mistake if they give Jax the win as she has already been given an opportunity, and there are also more deserving candidates who should get a shot at the Women's title on RAW or SmackDown.

#4 NXT stars not added to the Royal Rumble matches

In a bid to shake-up RAW and SmackDown, WWE announced that a few NXT Superstars would be added to the main roster.

Lars Sullivan, EC3, Lacey Evans, Heavy Machinery and Nikki Cross will soon be debuting on RAW and SmackDown, and of the 6 Superstars, 5 have already appeared on RAW or SmackDown (they haven't been assigned to a brand yet, and will appear on both shows till they are added to one show), only Lars Sullivan has made an appearance yet.

WWE could use the Rumble to put the spotlight on one of these stars in the Royal Rumble match. We could also see the likes of Velveteen Dream or Adam Cole enter the Rumble. WWE have announced more than 20 entrants for the women's Rumble match, while almost 20 entrants have been announced for the men's Rumble match.

With a few slots available (and more to be announced on the RAW and SmackDown go-home show), many in the WWE Universe will hope that WWE brings their favourite NXT stars to Royal Rumble.

#3 The Miz and Shane McMahon winning the SmackDown tag titles

The Miz-Shane McMahon bromance has fallen flat so far, in my opinion. The duo, who are the "best in the world" will face off against The Bar for the SmackDown tag team titles without even competing as a team. There are a few tag teams in WWE who would be hard done by this decision by the WWE.

It would be an even bigger travesty if The Miz-Shane tag team end up defeating The Bar and winning the SmackDown tag team titles. I feel that this tag team will not last long, and one of the two will turn heel and we will see the two battle it out at WrestleMania 35.

If WWE put the tag titles on Shane and Miz, it would be the most shocking title change since Braun Strowman won the RAW tag team titles with a kid!

#2 Sasha Banks turning heel

Sasha Banks

The RAW women's roster has a few strong babyfaces, but not many heels who can be pitted against Ronda Rousey, the current RAW Women's Champion and a huge babyface.

One Superstar who could become a heel is Sasha Banks, who has been away from the title picture for a while, but will get her opportunity on Sunday at Royal Rumble.

WWE could be tempted to go the same way that they did in the match between Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series, where a frustrated Flair used chairs and kendo sticks to inflict damage on Rousey after finding it impossible to defeat her.

This move ensured that neither of the Superstars - both top women on the WWE roster - lost clean, while also setting up a future feud.

But WWE should not follow the same formula for the match between Banks and Rousey at Royal Rumble.

With the women's tag team titles to be on the line at Elimination Chamber, it wouldn't make sense for Banks to turn heel, when her partner, Bayley, is a face. The two are top contenders for the title having been a team for a long time.

Heel Banks is vicious and one that can go toe-to-toe with Rousey, but following the same storyline as they did with Flair and Rousey would not interest fans.

#1 Finn Balor squashed

Even before the bell rings in the match between Finn Balor and Brock Lesnar for the Universal championship at Royal Rumble, most fans know who the winner is going to be.

The Beast won't be defeated easily, with WWE's creative team not wanting to blemish his standing in the eyes of the WWE Universe with a clean defeat, that too against a Superstar like Finn Balor who doesn't match-up to Lesnar in the physical aspects.

Balor has been painfully underused over the last year or more, despite him being over with the WWE Universe.

AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan, two smaller men in the WWE who have gone toe-to-toe with Lesnar, have shown that The Beast can have a good match in the ring even if his opponent is much smaller and has a different skill-set.

If Balor is squashed in the match, there's no future for him at the top of the card on RAW, and he will probably be one of the biggest missed opportunities in recent history in WWE.
