It wouldn't be a stretch to say that Seth Rollins was one of the best Intercontinental Champions of the past decade. 'The Kingslayer' defeated Finn Balor and The Miz in the opening match of WrestleMania 34 to capture the prestigious title and in the process become a Grand Slam Champion. Much like his predecessor The Miz, Rollins would elevate the IC Title. With Brock Lesnar being the absentee champion on RAW, 'The Architect' would hold the fort and carry the mantle of being the top champion on Monday Nights for the majority of 2018.

Not only did Rollins have the best matches every single week, but he also elevated his opponents. The biggest example of this was Dolph Ziggler, who had a lengthy feud with Rollins over the IC Title. Ziggler was someone who had fallen off the radar, but the feud against Rollins helped revitalize his career. The duo would have a series of classic matches during the Summer of 2018.

The Intercontinental Championship and Rollins' performance inside the squared circle made him the most beloved male Superstar on Monday Nights. Rollins' connection with the fans and his solid Reigns as IC Champ would ultimately be the catalyst for his ascent to the main-event scene.
