SummerSlam 2019: 3 Matches fans want to see and 2 they don't

SummerSlam will be hosted by Toronto, Canada this year!

The biggest party of the Summer, SummerSlam, will take place on 11th August, live from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.

“We are thrilled to bring WWE’s biggest event of the summer back to Toronto,” said John Saboor, WWE EVP, special events, in a statement. “We look forward to working with our partners at Tourism Toronto and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to build a blueprint that welcomes our global fan base to the great city of Toronto.”

With around 100 days left for the event, I'm sure WWE creative heads have started planning out the major angles and matches for SummerSlam this year. While there are many current champions whom I can see entering SummerSlam still as the champion, WWE can throw a surprise and give us several new champions before the event.

With Vince seemingly portraying his willingness to listen to fans, with all the 3 babyfaces winning the top titles of the company at WrestleMania 35, we'll have to wait and see whether that refreshing change was permanent or just for one night.

In this article, let's take a look at 3 Matches fans want to see at SummerSlam 2019, and 2 that they don't. Do let me know what are your thoughts on these matches.

#5 Want to see: Becky Lynch vs Ember Moon - SmackDown Women's Championship

Becky Lynch is set to pull double duty as the Champ at Money in the Bank as she'll defend her RAW and SmackDown Women's Championship against Lacey Evans and Charlotte, respectively.

While there is a chance, I don't see her losing the titles in her first dual defense. Lacey Evans isn't yet ready to lead the roster, and Charlotte has had way too many reigns already. Considering she retains her titles at MITB, there are a lot of interesting matchups possible for SummerSlam. One of them is Ember Moon challenging her for the SD Women's title.

Ember Moon got drafted to SmackDown recently as part of the Superstar Shake-up, and went face to face with Becky 2 Belts immediately. The intensity with which she addressed the champ was amazing, and fans are looking forward to seeing the two clash against each other somewhere down the line.

#4 Don't Want: Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar - Universal Championship

Not again, Brock!
Not again, Brock!

Fans finally got rid of a part-time champion at WrestleMania 35 when Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar to win the Universal Championship, and let fans rejoice on the fact that they'll be able to see the big red belt more often on Monday nights.

Universal Championship all of a sudden seems like an important title now with Seth carrying it to every show. But the last thing fans would want to see is Brock returning to challenge Seth for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. It's about time we see a new face in the title picture.

#3 Want to See: The Usos vs The Viking Raiders - RAW Tag Team Championship

This would be an epic showcase of tag team wrestling!
This would be an epic showcase of tag team wrestling!

RAW's tag team division is looking way better now with these two teams being drafted to Monday nights following the Superstar Shake-up. The current champions, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins surely won't hold the titles for long.

Either of the two teams could defeat them to win the titles and go on to face the other one at SummerSlam. If given proper time, The Viking Raiders and The Usos can deliver a classic tag-team match that would uplift the whole division. Bright days are ahead for RAW's tag division.

#2 Don't Want: Kofi Kingston vs Roman Reigns - WWE Championship

How long before Roman enters the title scene?

Roman Reigns got drafted to SmackDown as the "biggest acquisition" in the blue brand's history, a couple of weeks ago. Fans immediately started wondering how long before Vince puts Roman back in the title picture?

Well, fortunately, they have kept him away from the WWE Title as of now, with a feud against Elias at Money in the Bank, but something in me tells that this is just a fodder feud for him to gain some momentum before a clash with Kofi Kingston for the WWE Title.

This is a match I fear most likely will happen at SummerSlam and would result in Kofi losing the title, something that would make fans turn on Roman again. There's no point of doing this until it leads to a heel turn for the Big Dog.

#1 Want to See: Kofi Kingston vs The Demon King - WWE Championship

A heel Demon King is Best for Business!
A heel Demon King is Best for Business!

In one of my articles, I've mentioned the top heel turns that could happen this year. One of them is none other than the ever-smiling Finn Balor turning to his darker side and becoming a full-fledged heel.

He would be the perfect candidate to dethrone Kofi Kingston, as even despite being a heel, fans would love him. Also, losing to the Demon King, the most protected character on the main roster, won't decrease Kofi's credibility.

To add to the drama, WWE can include the New Day and The Club in the feud as well. A battle between these two factions would make this epic feud even better, something fans would love to see. The match at SummerSlam itself would be amazing, and can definitely steal the show.
