We are all set for WWE’s next pay-per-view, SummerSlam 2020. The ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’ is set to host several title matches including the WWE Championship and the WWE Universal Championship. In addition, both the RAW and the SmackDown Women’s Championships will be on the line at the PPV.

While the SummerSlam card is stacked with several exciting matches, there are a few Superstars who need a victory more than their opponents. Be it successful title defences or the end of extended feuds; the upcoming PPV could result in a crucial win for some of the Superstars. They could capitalise on this victory to elevate their position on the WWE roster and find themselves involved in more important storylines.

In this article, we will take a look at five WWE Superstars who desperately need a win at SummerSlam 2020. So, without further ado, let’s begin.

#1 ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt deserves to take his Universal Championship back at SummerSlam

WWE Superstar ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt has been engaged in a feud with Braun Strowman for a long time now. They are now set to lock horns in a third encounter at SummerSlam 2020 with Strowman’s Universal Championship on the line. Given that their first match ended with Strowman winning the match and their second encounter ended with a Bray Wyatt win, this is the right time for WWE to have him win back his Universal title.

The feud between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman involved a lot of elements from their personal history dating back to their days in the Wyatt Family. Things took a personal turn when The Fiend decided to include Alexa Bliss to make this rivalry even more intense before SummerSlam. Although The Fiend intended to use Bliss to get inside the head of Strowman, his plan backfired when the Monster Among Men revealed that he doesn’t really care about Alexa Bliss.

In fact, Strowman ended up attacking Alexa Bliss on SmackDown in a shocking turn of events. This segment indicated towards Alexa Bliss reinventing herself as Sister Abigail after WWE previously teased her in that gimmick during the Wyatt Swamp Fight. It is also possible that she will end up playing a crucial role in the Universal Championship match at SummerSlam.

Braun Strowman has had a decent run with the title ever since he defeated Goldberg for the gold at WrestleMania earlier this year. WWE should have booked better feuds involving the champion, but unfortunately, that ship has now sailed. It would be a better decision to put the Universal Championship back on ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam 2020 as he is also at the risk of losing his momentum in WWE.

#2 Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose should get her revenge at SummerSlam

The long-standing feud between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville kickstarted back when the latter betrayed her best friend. Deville purposely blindsided her former tag team partner and later when on to reveal her honest opinions on Mandy Rose. Both Superstars are now set to lock horns at SummerSlam 2020 in a ‘Hair vs Hair’ match.

This bout was added to the SummerSlam matchcard after Sonya Deville attacked Mandy Rose backstage and chopped her hair. Deville seems determined to make Mandy Rose as ugly as ‘she is on the inside’. An agitated Rose then challenged Deville in a ‘Hair vs Hair’ match to prove that she has a lot more to her than her beauty.

Although Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose have locked horns a few times before this, it has always ended in Deville’s favour. This is a good chance for the creative to have Mandy Rose finally get her revenge and put an end to this storyline. Both Superstars are extremely talented and should be booked in other feuds. While Deville has already established herself as one of the strongest contenders on the SmackDown Women’s Division, Mandy Rose needs a big win to elevate her position on the roster. And a win at SummerSlam 2020 will do exactly that for her.

#3 Andrade and Angel Garza

A SummerSlam title win could be huge for both Andrade and Angel Garza

WWE Superstars Andrade and Angel Garza have established themselves as dominant heels on RAW, especially under the management of Zelina Vega. They are now set to challenge The Street Profits for the RAW Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam 2020. After their recent run in WWE, both Andrade and Angel Garza deserve to walk out of SummerSlam with the RAW Tag Team Championships.

In the weeks leading up to their match, it was revealed that Zelina Vega poisoned Montez Ford's drink and the latter collapsed twice. While WWE only confirmed the culprit this week, Bianca Belair always had her doubts on Vega. Therefore, it is quite possible that going forward; she will also be involved in the feud between both the tag teams.

The Street Profits had a remarkable start to their RAW Tag Team Championships after they won the titles at WrestleMania. However, the title defence against the Viking Raiders wasn't that intense, and they need to be a part of a more engaging feud. The RAW Tag Team Titles should change hands at the upcoming PPV, and it will be beneficial for Andrade and Angel Garza to be the one who holds the tag team gold on the Red brand.

#2 Apollo Crews

WWE Superstar Apollo Crews has been one of the breakout Superstars in WWE this year, owing to his brilliant performances. He now has a title defence at SummerSlam and should walk out of the PPV with a victory. Crews won the United States Championship against Andrade back in May. However, he was ruled out of action for a few weeks after reportedly testing positive for COVID-19.

In his absence, MVP brought the ‘new and improved’ United States Championship and declared himself as the title-holder on RAW. However, the leader of the Hurt Business could not enjoy his self-proclaimed championship reign as Apollo Crews returned to take what belonged to him. The two Superstars are now set to lock horns in the United States Championship match at SummerSlam.

On the last episode of RAW, Apollo Crews defeated Shelton Benjamin on WWE RAW and won a huge advantage ahead of SummerSlam. Now, MVP won’t have Bobby Lashley or Shelton Benjamin in his corner which puts the odds in favour of the Champion. Apollo Crews deserves to continue his commendable run on WWE RAW, and a win at SummerSlam will ensure that it continues.

#1 Sasha Banks

WWE Superstar Sasha Banks deserves to successfully defend her title at a pay-per-view. If that argument isn't enough to convince, there are several other reasons why she is one of those Superstars who desperately need to win at SummerSlam 2020. Despite being as talented as Sasha Banks is, there are no huge PPV wins in the list of her accomplishments in WWE.

At SummerSlam, she is set to defend her RAW Women's Championship against Asuka. The latter lost her title to Banks after abandoning the Championship match on RAW. Asuka then defeated Bayley to win a shot at the RAW Women's Championship at SummerSlam. We recently saw Bayley say that she lost her match against Asuka because she had 'nothing important to fight her'.

That statement left Banks in confusion and further deepened the plot of the inevitable betrayal between the two best friends. It will be interesting to see Sasha Banks successfully defend her title especially after Asuka ends Bayley's title reign. It will make Bayley take credit for Banks' victory, leading her to question the latter's credibility.
