Talk about a main event! The question heading into this match at Survivor Series was what would happen with Drew McIntyre because there was no way Roman Reigns could lose right now. Yet, it felt like a waste of potential for McIntyre to go down too cleanly or easily, either.
The result was a tough battle that truly felt like a clash of titans, which is all too rare among full-timers in today's WWE. Both men brought down their biggest blows on each other at Survivor Series and yet they still came back for more.
What got Drew McIntyre in the end was misfortune, as he hit his Claymore kick, only for Roman Reigns to fall into the referee on the way down. This allowed Jey Uso to come out to support his cousin while Roman Reigns cheated in his own right, allowing him to carry the day through a chokehold - which McIntyre didn't tap out to.
He had to lose, but he lost at Survivor Series in a way that takes nothing away from his character.
This match left a lot on the table. If WWE wants to do Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania to finish the story, no one would complain.
