The Rock recently confirmed Drew McIntyre's WWE contract extension

Just a few hours ago, The Rock confirmed that Drew McIntyre had officially renewed his contract with WWE. This news comes as a prominent relief for fans of The Scottish Warrior, as the contract extension will put to rest any speculation of Drew leaving the company. Additionally, The Final Boss sent McIntyre a special gift following WrestleMania XL, fulfilling a promise made to him.

Following the announcement of McIntyre's contract extension, an old video of The Rock resurfaced on the internet. The video was from 2019 and The Great One was asked a few questions.

When asked about the next big superstar of WWE, The Rock replied that everyone in the company was working hard to reach that level. He also revealed a conversation he had had with Roman Reigns, where they discussed potential rising stars. The Hollywood megastar personally backed Drew McIntyre as his favorite to become the next big superstar of the company.

"Personally, I like Drew McIntyre. I think he's got a great look, a great build, and especially as he continues to hone in on his craft and connect with the audience, which is always the most important thing. That's it," The Rock said.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Drew McIntyre after his contract extension with the Stamford-based promotion.

Is Drew McIntyre willing to work with The Rock in WWE?

The Rock is absolutely one of the biggest stars in the history of WWE. His recent run as The Final Boss was also highly embraced by the WWE Universe. However, nearly a month ago, during an interview with The Scottish Sun, McIntyre expressed his interest in potentially collaborating with The People's Champion on television.

The former Royal Rumble winner stated his eagerness to work with The Rock, whether in a singles match or as part of a tag team. However, McIntyre underlined the importance of a suitable storyline for any potential collaboration to make sense.

“Whether it’s a match with, or being in the same team as him, as long as the story makes sense, who wouldn’t want to be a part of something with The Rock?” [H/T - The Scottish Sun]

It appears that The Scottish Warrior is fully open to the idea of collaborating with The Final Boss in the Stamford-based promotion. It will be engaging to see if WWE plans any segments featuring these two once The People's Champion makes his return to the company.
