#4. Sami Zayn progressed on the King in the Ring tournament on WWE SmackDown

Rey Mysterio and Sami Zayn competed in the first match of the King of the Ring tournament on WWE SmackDown. Before the match, Dominik Mysterio decided to stay at the back while his father went out alone to take on The Conspiracy Theorist.

Zayn attacked Rey from the opening bell and hit a powerbomb early to nearly pick up the win. He dominated Rey until Dominik came out in support of his father.

Rey hit Code Red to take control of the match for some time before setting up the 619. As Rey ran for his finisher, The Great Liberator ducked and hit the Blue Thunder Bomb. Dominik got involved when Zayn tried to cheat by pulling down the turnbuckle.

Rey told his son to go backstage again, and the distraction allowed Zayn to roll up Rey for the win. The match was good and allowed both men some time to hit some good moves.

SmackDown is doing well to build more tension between The Mysterios. Meanwhile, it was good to see Sami Zayn pick up a win to help him get a push on SmackDown. He could turn out to be a fantastic King of the Ring if given a chance.
