The word impersonation can be defined as ‘a representation of a person that is exaggerated for comic effect’. The WWE has had its fair share of impersonators over the years. From the ‘people’s champion’ The Rock to DX, from CM Punk to Charlie Haas, the impersonators and their impersonations keep on getting better and better.

So, let us take you through a journey of hilarious impersonations over the years in the WWE. Watch out for a large dose of comic relief.

10) Charlie Haas as Beth Pheonix

Charlie Haas was one of the brightest young talents in the WWE when he teamed up with Shelton Benjamin to form the ‘World’s Greatest Tag Team’. After some initial success, both men parted ways to forge a solo career. Shelton found good success in his singles career whereas Haas had a contrasting one.

To make amends, Haas took to impersonating past and present WWE superstars and legends week after week on WWE RAW and soon became instantly popular for the concept and the perfection with which he portrayed them. However, his portrayal of the ‘Glamazon’ Beth Pheonix tops it all.

9) Rated RKO as DX

Edge and Randy Orton, who faced monumental success in their solo careers formed a lethal tag team known as ‘Rated RKO’ and opposed the top dogs in the WWE i.e. D Generation X. The rivalry lasted for quite a long time with both teams indulging in a lot of mud slinging. But what was certainly the highlight of the feud was Rated RKO’s impersonation of DX. Edge and Randy were impeccable as Triple H and HBK as they put up an amazing segment to intensify the feud

8) Miz as The Rock

John Cena and The Rock were set to square off in a ‘once in a lifetime’ Wrestlemania encounter. Champion Cena had retained his title after defeating The Miz at Extreme Rules. The Miz clearly seemed unhappy with what was transpiring in the WWE and intended to send a message to John Cena.

So, on the March 14th, 2011, episode of WWE RAW, Cena was ambushed in the ring by Brodus Clay and his mentor Alberto Del Rio. Just when things started getting worse for Cena, The Miz made his way to the ring dressed up as the people’s champion The Rock. See what transpired later.

CM Punk looks impeccable as Jeff Hardy

CM Punk’s rivalry with Jeff Hardy was easily, by far, one of the best P.G era rivalries ever. Both men were equally skilled and versatile in offence that made the affair one to watch out for. We have to note that Hardy left the WWE after losing a ‘career’ on the line match to CM Punk.

Anyways, Hardy was the fan favourite and a top draw on SmackDown. CM Punk used this to his advantage baffling fans and viewers alike with his mind blowing imitation of Jeff Hardy.

6) Kaitlyn as Vickie Guerrero

Vickie Guerrero was the NXT pro in charge of grooming WWE Diva Kaitlyn, and the two were always at loggerheads. Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels was one feud that had ‘legendary’ written all over it. Set to face each other at SummerSlam in 2005, the match was dubbed as the clash between ‘Icon’ vs ‘Legend’. Shawn Michaels, who was more of a ‘showman’ took the feud to a whole new level with his hilarious imitation of the Hulkster in a makeshift Larry King studio. This one is indeed as hilarious as they come BROTHER!!

4) DX as The Nation of Domination

DX

DX posing as the ‘Nation of Domination’

Two stables defined the attitude era. The Nation of Domination and DX. Both stables were at loggerheads with each other and gave us some epic moments. Triple H, who was the leader of DX hatched a plot to defame The Nation as they impersonated the latter to utmost perfection. Watch DX take centre stage with this first of many impersonations to come. Special mention to whoever did the Owen Hart imitation.

3) Undertaker as Kane

Kane faced Mankind in a match on RAW to determine the new number one contender for Stone Cold Steve Austin’s title. Austin was at ringside commentating with chairman Vince McMahon. As the match was done, Mr McMahon stood up to acknowledge Kane’s win. Only that, it was not Kane but his brother The Undertaker, who was now the #1 contender.

2) Edge as Ric Flair

Wooo!! This one is another classy example of superstar impersonation. After adapting his ‘Rated R’ tag, Edge became a top notch bad guy in the WWE. In 2005, he feuded with ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. Flair had recently been charged with road rage. Edge took this to his advantage as he portrayed Flair in commendable fashion. Full marks to Edge for such an entertaining performance.

1) DX as the McMahons

DX2

DX as the McMahons

Nothing can and will ever beat this ‘segment of a lifetime’ by your’s truly, D Generation X. The McMahons feud against DX was perhaps the highlight of 2006. DX had been interfering far too much in Mr McMahon’s affairs and the ‘rebels’ never really budged to the authority.

In another act of complete disrespect, DX take center stage as the McMahons and take you through an unbelievably hilarious segment on RAW. Watch the video, as it justifies why this clip sits right on the perch.
