Top 5 new storylines from WWE Monday Night RAW after Royal Rumble 2014

The average number of storylines in the WWE on an ordinary day would be around 3, but all that will be made history when the company switches lanes into the road to WrestleMania. The company officially shifted gears at the Royal Rumble and the after effects were there to be seen on this week’s Raw.

Though most of the action at Raw was a complete contrast to what happened at the Rumble there were things that gave us a trailer of what to expect at the Elimination Chamber.

The company also seems to be putting a bit of attention into the mid card as well which is great since a bit is always better than nothing.

Things are getting interesting in the promotion and let’s take a look at the possible storylines that could be molded out after what went down at Raw.

Bad News for Miz

Want to hear some bad news ?

Want to hear some bad news ?

Like it or not, this was the “bit” I mentioned earlier. The only continuing confrontation in the mid card, Bad News Barrett has been getting under the skin of Miz for some time now.

The only thing that has been keeping the Miz at bay is the podium that Barrett uses. And once Miz gets him down expect an all-out beat down for every word that was uttered by him.

On the top, seeing Miz and Barrett fighting in a storyline might not seem attractive. But at least we’ll have something in the mid card plus Barrett inside the ring will be greater than seeing him pull off such gimmick and being a waste of in ring talent.

The Tag Dilemma

How long can they hang on?

How long can they hang on?

Back at the Royal Rumble, the New Age Outlaws winning the tag titles seemed like the best idea as Goldust and Cody Rhodes seemed destined for a break up.

But in their first title defense, the new champions showed that there were shades of ageing in their performance which might batter then for the long term.

Meanwhile, The Real Americans and The Usos are getting all the momentum in the world. The tag champions trying to hold on to their titles against these three threats will be the highlight in the division but expect them to drop the title sooner or later.

Batista meets Mexico

Freshness in the air

Freshness in the air

There is no need for Batista to enter the Elimination Chamber now, the Animal already has a guaranteed shot in his bag, and so what will he do in the meantime? Beat up Alberto Del Rio.

The rivalry between Batista and Del Rio is turning out to be imminent now as the Animal needs some good momentum from Elimination Chamber before his match at WrestleMania. Del Rio also doesn’t have anything else to do in the meantime which makes it a logical decision.

There will be a certain freshness to the match, as these two have not gone up against eachother in WWE. There might be twist and turns in the storyline but the outcome is clearly going to be on Del Rio.

The Elimination Chamber

Will the Elimination Chamber be his winning ground?

Will the Elimination Chamber be his winning ground?

Sheamus, Randy Orton, John Cena and Daniel Bryan were the participants to be confirmed as Elimination Chamber entrants this week. By the looks of it, Brock Lesnar is also going to be in as the fifth man.

Lesnar wasn’t given the walk in shot at the title and now the only way for him to get a shot is to earn one. Instead of allowing he destroys everyone that crosses his path Lesnar will be given the opportunity by the authority to prove his metal.

But the last entrant is where the surprise may lie. CM Punk is a likely one but he seems to be locking horns with Kane at the Chamber.

Lesnar’s induction and the sixth entrant will dominate the title scene until Elimination Chamber as the Animal will be waiting for his prey.

The Heel Trio Showdown

The sooner the better

The sooner the better

For starters, it’s not exactly fair to term the Shield as heels as they get more cheers than John Cena at the moment. But for the sake of things let it be that way until the group explodes.

They were given a chance to enter the Elimination Chamber at the expense of Cena, Sheamus and Bryan but that chance went through their hands because of the Wyatt Family.

What might all these end up to? A match between two of the most decorated stables in the professional wrestling business at the moment. The Wyatts- Shield storyline had to come at one point or the other and the creative’s decision to pause the Shield breakup for making this possible is arguably the best thing for business.
