5. Los Conquistadors
Way back in 2000 when the tag team division was on fire, the Hardy Boyz, the Dudley Boyz and Edge & Christian dominated the WWE tag team scenario. After countless matches involving the three teams, it was decided that E&C would not have another shot at the Hardy’s tag championships.
Problem? What problem – Enter a couple of masked luchadors called the Los Conquistadors.
The original Conquistadors were a jobber team that used to compete in the WWE in the 80’s. Despite segments where E&C and the Conquistadors appeared together, the luchadors beat the Hardys for the tag titles at No Mercy using Christian’s finishing move – ‘The Unprettier’.
Despite the rumours swarming that E&C were under the masks, a title match was scheduled between E&C and the Conquistadors the next night on Raw where the Conquistadors beat Edge with the Hardys’ finishing move.
The Conquistadors unmasked immediately, revealing themselves to be the Hardys where as Commissioner Mick Foley provided video footage to prove that Edge and Christian had donned the masks at No Mercy to win the gold.
