SmackDown's Messiah, Seth Rollins, isn't happy with WWE officially announcing Edge as Roman Reigns' opponent for Money in the Bank. Rollins had talked to WWE Officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville about getting an opportunity at Reigns' Universal Championship. While the two took his request under consideration, no promises were made.
Seth Rollins lashed out on Talking Smack and was very unhappy that Edge was being placed over him by the management.
''I deserve the opportunity, not Edge. Not Edge. Not Edge! Where's he been? He hasn't even been here since WrestleMania, he hasn't even done anything.''
Rollins continued his trade, saying that he has been here every day while Edge has been missing for months.
#3 SmackDown's Seth Rollins vs Edge being planned for SummerSlam
Speaking of Rollins lashing out at Edge, it looks like this could be a setup for a mega match between SmackDown's two biggest opportunists at SummerSlam. Sources such as WrestleVotes and Wrestling Observer Newsletter have stated that WWE is planning a first-time-ever match between Edge and Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.
Dave Meltzer of The Observer noted that Seth Rollins' recent win against Cesaro was majorly done to put him in a position to be a serious threat to Edge.
''Seth Rollins over Cesaro made sense. Cesaro beat Rollins before getting his title shot. In that situation, the other guy who is usually ranked higher will get it back after the title shot. Plus Rollins is being groomed for bigger fish right now than Cesaro, including a possible meeting with Edge," stated Dave Meltzer.
