Top SmackDown Rumors: Reason for Lesnar's delayed comeback, Roman's WrestleMania opponent, Megastar to return for big rematch (13th June)

#1 SmackDown Superstar Edge set to return

Edge has been absent from SmackDown since WrestleMania 37. The 2021 Royal Rumble winner Edge and Daniel Bryan, were convincingly beaten by Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 37.

There were rumors about Edge being injured. However, these rumors are not true and Edge will likely return to SmackDown next month. There are also plans in place for him to be a part of SummerSlam.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the former WWE Champion will be part of this year's SummerSlam as WWE wants some big names to work the show:

''There are also to be other returns with the idea of SummerSlam being a WrestleMania-level show. Since Edge is billed to return on the Houston Smackdown, and there is talk about bringing back big names, him wrestling at SummerSlam seems to add up,'' said Meltzer.

With Roman Reigns likely to face John Cena at SummerSlam, it will be interesting to see who WWE picks to be Edge's opponent at the biggest party of the summer.
