What might happen in WWE this month (February 2019)

WWE ended the month of January on a high as one of the highly anticipated pay-per-views of the year, WWE Royal Rumble, garnered mostly positive reviews from the WWE Universe.

With fan favorites like Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch winning their respective 30 men and women Royal Rumble matches, WWE seemed to heed the fans, however, with the company officially kicking off the road to WrestleMania 35, the onus will be on the creative to deliver each and every time.

While the month of January had its highs and lows, it would be remembered mainly for positive reasons. Also, WWE pushing fan favorites like Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, and Finn Balor in the top card was also the biggest takeaway of the month.

However, the spotlight will be once again on the creative not to lose the plot and keep the intensity going in the coming months.

If January had one of the most anticipated pay per views in the likes of Royal Rumble, February is not far behind, as one of the biggest events of the year, Elimination Chamber is scheduled for 17 February 2019. Also, the recent turn of events has created a lot of buzz and it would be interesting to see what twist and turns February has in store for us.

So without further ado, let's take a look at 4 predictions for the month of February.

#4 More WWE Superstars follow Ambrose's route

Shinsuke Nakamura stint has been underwhelming, to say the least
Shinsuke Nakamura stint has been underwhelming, to say the least

Reports of Dean Ambrose leaving the WWE after the expiration of his contract emerged a few days ago, and as a matter fact WWE went on to confirm the same.

Ambrose was unhappy with the direction in which his character was headed and decided to take this step, and reports of a few other superstars being disgruntled with the company have been emerging for quite some time now, and it might not take long before the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Anderson, and Gallows follow Ambrose's footsteps.

In fact, Ambrose's decision might act as a catalyst, and as we dive deep into the month of February, a few other superstars may call it quits with the company.

#3 WWE engages Seth Rollins in a mini-feud with Drew McIntyre

Well, Seth Rollins won the 30 men Royal Rumble match to take on the 'Beast Incarnate' Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35. However, with the month of April still being 2 months away, WWE could engage the former Architect of Shield in a mini-feud against the 'Scottish Psychopath' Drew McIntyre.

While Rollins has stamped his place in the Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar via winning the Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre will most probably face John Cena at the grandest stage of them all. Given WWE used the scripted injury angle caused at the hands of McIntyre to sideline John Cena from the Rumble match, the duo will most probably square off again at 'Mania 35.

Thus, WWE could sneak in with a mini-feud between Rollins and McIntyre before they plan and build their respective WrestleMania 35 matches in March.

#2 Finn Balor becomes the new Intercontinental Champion

WWE stopped pushing the Boss of the Balor Club after his loss against Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble 2019. As a matter of fact, WWE had the current Intercontinental Champion, Bobby Lashley attack Finn Balor to lay down the crumbs for a potential match at Elimination Chamber for the Intercontinental title.

Given how the stint of Lashley as the Intercontinental Champion has been underwhelming, plus creative showing trust in Balor for the past couple of months, we might get ourselves a new Intercontinental Champion on February 17.

While it would certainly give Balor's character a new direction, it may also make the Intercontinental Championship relevant again, given Balor is crazy over.

Balor getting crowned as the new Intercontinental Champion looks totally on the cards for Elimination Chamber.

#1 WWE teases Strowman vs Daniel Bryan for WrestleMania 35

WWE needs to switch Strowman to SmackDown Live.
WWE needs to switch Strowman to SmackDown Live

Ever since Braun Strowman lost his spot in the Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar after getting involved in a heated exchange of words with Vince McMahon, the Monster Among Men has arguably become irrelevant on the red brand.

There has not been any major storyline surrounding the Greatest Royal Rumble winner, and it might be the right time for WWE to switch him to the SmackDown roster.

While Rollins vs Lesnar has been stamped for the Universal title at WrestleMania 35, WWE has kept its cards close to its chest when it comes to Bryan's opponent at 'Mania. However, given how WWE has invested in Strowman for the last 2 years, expect WWE to launch him in the main event scene against Bryan on the SmackDown roster.

Thus, WWE could switch Strowman to the blue brand after Elimination Chamber and lay down the breadcrumbs for a potential match with Bryan at WrestleMania 35.
