The upcoming Survivor Series WarGames event will be without a crucial participant, Cody Rhodes. Despite being the Undisputed WWE Champion, The American Nightmare will not be competing in Vancouver, Canada, which is quite noteworthy. Why is this important? This is the first time since Elimination Chamber 2024 that Rhodes will not be part of a PLE match. This raises the question, what is the cause of his absence?
The answer is pretty simple - the card is already stacked. Alongside the United States, Intercontinental, and World Heavyweight Championships being on the line, fans can anticipate two WarGames matches as well. Considering this, adding Cody Rhodes to the event could overcrowd the lineup and possibly overshadow the other matches.
Instead, we will get Cody Rhodes versus Kevin Owens Part 2 at Saturday Night's Main Event. It makes a lot more sense than having the match at Survivor Series, as it gives Triple H and WWE time to build even more tension between the two former friends. Moreover, it's the perfect marquee main event match for the NBC special.
It is a bit unfortunate that we will not get to see Rhodes at Survivor Series, at least in a match. After all, you can never say never in this business, so there might be a chance he makes an appearance in some other capacity. But, at this point, it's nothing more than speculation.
Cody Rhodes recently broke an unspoken rule of pro wrestling
While he has vowed to cross the line when he gets into the ring with Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes is what can be described as a consummate professional. He loves pro wrestling, to the point he lives and breathes it. Now, that should come as no surprise, given he is part of one of wrestling's 'royal families'. But, there are times when even he forgets he is a professional wrestler.
Having grown up in the business, The American Nightmare knows all the tricks and trades, and even the unspoken rules. But, despite knowing them, he recently broke one such unspoken rule. As he revealed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he recently forgot to bring his Undisputed WWE Championship to his high school reunion. And, as he himself stated, 'Always bring the belt' is one of the principal rules in pro wrestling.
He admitted to feeling like a disappointment on the night. But, it just goes to show, that even WWE Superstars are only human.
