10 WWE Superstars who aged drastically

The Undertaker

A career in the wrestling business requires a lot of hard work and dedication. The never decreasing physical demands and the hard journeys on the road are sure to take a lot out from your tank and it might not reflect well on the body as well.

Ageing terribly is one of the side effects of being a professional wrestler and even though a majority of the wrestlers dodge this problem, there are a lot of names out there who are not lucky enough. Slowing down in the squared circle and looking well above your age is probably the last thing you want as a superstar.Watch this video to find out which WWE stars fell into that pit.

Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam’s has the reputation for being a rolling stone. Throughout his career, Van Dam wrestled in a lot of promotions and his style in between the ropes has considerably slowed him down right now.

He is younger than most of his Attitude Era companions when it comes to the number but the latest spell he had with WWE shows that Van Dam is in no shape whatsoever to continue wrestling for years to come.

The problems he had with substance abuse is also another factor that contributed to his ageing and the best thing that we can expect from Rob Van Dam at the moment is one last hurray before he hangs up his boots.

Raven

Raven

Raven, just likes some of the names in the list, might not be a familiar face for the modern era fans. He was one of the major attractions back in the original ECW and has a reputation of being a wrestling genius. The current Bray Wyatt gimmick that we see today in WWE has a lot of inspiration from what Raven used to be, if a comparison is required to know him better.

Raven is currently 50 years old but ageing has not been a good friend of his. His hair and body have been seeing some drastic changes over the year and this has also kept him away from the ring. It would be great to see Raven get a backstage role in WWE as he could give a lot of creative input to the company.

Scott Hall

Scott Hall

Scott Hall was one of the heartthrobs back in the 90s. He had some good looks and the Razor Ramon gimmick simply shot him into the stars. Hall’s run in the WCW also had some memorable moments worth mentioning but for every good thing that he did in the wrestling business, Hall had a lot of forgettable stories as well.

The black haired Hall, who used to woo the ladies back in the 90s, looks exactly like a torn apart old man right now. He was recently in trouble in Global Force Wrestling for showing up drunk for an event and this incident is enough for everyone to understand the battle that Hall is going through right now.

Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon is just 45 years old but his appearance is beyond the numbers. After spending a long time in the wrestling business, Shane decided that it was better of him to seek a new career for himself rather than taking over his father’s empire. It clearly isn’t a popular decision among the WWE fans and Shane currently leads a low profile life.

Taking a break from the wrestling business was supposed to help him get his fitness together but at the moment, Shane looks pretty old. His father is 70 years old but the age difference between these two McMahons is a bit hard to figure out thanks to Shane’s terrible ageing.

The Sandman

Sandman

The current crop WWE fans might not recognize this guy but as far as the ECW fans are concerned, this man is a legend. It is his beer drinking heroics that inspired Stone Cold Steve Austin and the fact has been well documented as well. Back in his prime as well, Sandman was never a prototype superstar and ageing quickly caught up on him.

His beer belly and the entire body bloated up a bit in the recent years and Sandman clearly does not look like the 51-year-old that he is. Sandman is still not officially retired from the wrestling business and most of his current outings are funny rather than being intense as it used to be back in the days.

Lex Luger

Lex Luger

Lex Luger, if you do not remember was the one who started the Monday Night Wars. Back in the first episode of WCW Nitro, he showed up in WCW while everyone thought that he was still a WWE employee. It popularized the ‘anything can happen’ factor and another reason for Luger’s appearance being a big deal was because both the companies were high on him.

Vince McMahon apparently wanted to make him the face of WWE due to his good looks and physique. All these plans, however, came crashing down. Luger’s career never lived up to the expectations and the recent photos that surfaced in the ring suggest that he didn’t age quite well.

Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts

Jake Roberts

The battle that Jake Roberts had with his demons is folklore in the wrestling business. These struggles coupled with the efforts he had to put into the ring were probably something that contributed to Jake’s ageing. Now, to get the facts right, there is a big difference between the Jake Roberts before the DDP Yoga and the Jake Roberts after it.

DDP did work a lot of magic on his friend and despite this; Jake’s would have looked much younger at this stage if it wasn’t for his substance abuse and the wear and tear from his wrestling days. The way in which he continued wrestling despite all the things that went around him did no favors as well.

Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan never hesitates when it comes to admitting his desire to wrestle again. There are also rumors about Hogan getting a spot in the WrestleMania 32 match card.

The age 61 might sound perfectly normal to have one last wrestling match but in Hogan’s case, it is an entirely different story. Hogan’s skin is the biggest give away on how bad he has aged over the years and the occasional matches he had in TNA a few years back shows that his physique is not suited for more wrestling.

Despite all these, Hogan is still a big draw for the legendary career he had in the wrestling business and WWE could still use him as an ambassador for the coming years.

Bret Hart

Bret Hart

Bret Hart will always be known as a legendary name in the business. Bret, however, does not have a pretty time when it comes to the ageing department. He showed some drastic ageing towards the end of his career and especially in the 2000s; Bret’s body was breaking down.

He was active in the wrestling business for nearly three decades and had a low profile fourth one as well. The last spell, however, saw him become incredibly slow in the ring while sporting grey hair and wrinkled face. Bret is almost at the door steps of 60 at the moment but he definetly looks older than what he really is.

Undertaker

The Undertaker

Undertaker’s inclusion in the list might not be a big surprise. The Phenom started off his WWE career back in 1990 and is into his third decade now. His body has taken a lot of toll during all those years but still, when compared to most of his companions in the business, Taker will not be happy with the way he aged.

He is currently 50 and Taker is so banged up that he can only wrestle once in a year. His grey hair and wrinkled body is not doing him any favors as well and there is a big possibility of Taker hanging up his boots next year thanks to this terrible process of ageing.
