The stage is set for WWE Clash of Champions 2019 which is slated to take place on Sunday that will see all the championships being put on the line and a whole lot of high-profile duels set to add a lot of excitement to the upcoming pay-per-view.

Undoubtedly, the card for Clash of Champions is looking impressive. Both RAW and SmackDown Live shows have improved marginally in recent months, with more captivating storylines and stupendous matches and hence, the company is certainly giving importance to every single pay-per-view.

The show will be held at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. While the King of the Ring final will not take place at Clash of Champions, with RAW set to host the tournament decider next week, a number of title matches and non-title matches will undoubtedly add an extra dimension to this show.

Here are four things WWE could be planning for Clash of Champions on Sunday.

#4 Sasha Banks wins by disqualification, but Becky Lynch remains the champion

There is no denying that the RAW Women's Championship match will be one of the most anticipated matches of Clash of Champions. Becky Lynch will wrestle her biggest challenger to date, Sasha Banks. The Boss has ambushed The Man several times in recent weeks and given the buildup to the clash, the duo could be expected to put up a top show.

Becky Lynch has been enjoying a dream run since winning the main event of WrestleMania 35. While Lynch lost the blue belt within a month, she is still a proud owner of the red belt. However, Sasha Banks' heel turn has rejuvenated her character, and she will be a real threat to the champion.

It is improbable that Sasha Banks will lose her first big match, following her long-awaited return. Lynch, on the other hand, is still one of the most backed Superstars of the company, and she can't afford to lose the title. Hence, the match could end in disqualification, and Lynch could still remain the RAW Women's Champion after Sunday.

#3 Nakamura defeats The Miz with the help of Sami Zayn

The Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will take on The Miz at Spectrum Center. Since winning the title at Extreme Rules, this will be Nakamura's first title defense in a pay-per-view, as the Japanese Superstar skipped SummerSlam. The Miz, on the other hand, suffered a loss in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament but beat Andrade in a non-title match recently and has some momentum on his side.

However, one of Nakamura's advantages going into the match will be the presence of Sami Zayn beside him, with the latter emerging as the champion's mouthpiece in recent times. Given the involvement of Zayn, one could expect him to interfere in the Intercontinental Championship match at Clash of Champions. The Miz will be aiming to win his ninth Intercontinental Title but Zayn could turn out to be a major obstacle for the A-Lister.

#2 AJ Styles retains the US Title

Styles will be facing off against Cedric Alexander

Just a few days before Clash of Champions, WWE announced the opponent for the US Champion, AJ Styles. The Phenomenal One will face off against an exuberant Cedric Alexander who has been a victim of The OC in the past two weeks. This could be quite an exciting match, as both Superstars are extremely talented in the squared circle.

A match between Cedric and Styles already happened on RAW this week, but the match ended in no contest after interference from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. However, Styles and Cedric crossed paths again in a tag team match on the same night when the latter pinned the US Champion.

With Gallows and Anderson present at the ringside, beating Styles could prove to be an insurmountable task for the former Cruiserweight Champion on Sunday. After the reunion of The OC, Styles has been unstoppable and he is unlikely to lose the title.

If Gallows and Anderson interrupt their match again, Alexander might come out as a weak competitor, therefore, the champion should earn a clean victory at Clash of Champions.

#1 The Fiend attacks the winner of the Universal Championship match

After slaying the Beast at the Biggest Party of the Summer, Seth Rollins will fight The Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman at Clash of Champions. Rollins and Strowman, who are also tag team partners, will compete for the Universal Championship at Spectrum Center. With an intense buildup, this match has definitely garnered attention and it will be interesting to see who walks out with the title at the end of this clash.

Though there is a notable size difference between Strowman and Rollins, the latter has been impressive against Superstars bigger in size than him, as he pinned Brock Lesnar twice this year. Yet, the biggest twist could be The Fiend's interference at the end of the upcoming clash.

In the previous two Firefly Fun House episodes, Bray Wyatt made clear that The Fiend will target the next Universal Champion. The Fiend will fight either Rollins or Strowman at Hell in a Cell, and we could see a teaser of it on Sunday. In all likelihood, the Universal Championship match will be the main event of the night and The Fiend could close the show, attacking the Universal Champion with a vicious Mandible Claw.
