WWE Clash Of Champions 2020: Predicting every remaining title match at the PPV

The Clash of Champions card is nowhere near complete.
The Clash of Champions card is nowhere near complete.

WWE's next pay-per-view is Clash of Champions, where every Championship on RAW and SmackDown will be defended. There are nine titles in total, not counting the 24/7 Championship. The show is in a little over two weeks, but only a handful of matches have been announced so far.

Drew McIntyre will defend the WWE Championship against Randy Orton, in what is likely to be the main event of Clash of Champions. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns will face his cousin, Jey Uso, for the Universal Championship. Bayley also found out who her opponent will be, as Nikki Cross won a four-way match to earn a title shot at Clash of Champions.

There are still six titles that are yet to be featured on the card. While the direction for most of them seems pretty clear, the matches have not been announced as of the end of SmackDown. WWE will look to continue their hot streak of successful pay-per-views at the ThunderDome with an exciting Clash of Champions line-up.

Here are the likely options for every remaining title match at Clash of Champions 2020.

#5 Bobby Lashley vs. Apollo Crews (United States Championship) at Clash of Champions 2020

After the post-match events from Payback, it is hard to see anybody other than Apollo Crews get the next shot at Bobby Lashley's United States Championship. Crews lost the US title but tried to attack Lashley as he was posing. This was a confusing move for the babyface.

Nevertheless, this story does not seem complete. Crews will likely get his rematch at Clash of Champions, before the Hurt Business moves on to other things. This angle did receive a spark of interest on RAW when Cedric Alexander turned on his friends to join the heel group.

This dynamic will make the possible US title rematch between Lashley and Crews different from their previous encounter. Their match at Payback was decent, with both Superstars doing some impressive things. It served well as the opener to the show.

More of the same at Clash of Champions, along with some shenanigans at ringside could lead to a better match in two weeks' time. Bobby Lashley and the Hurt Business will likely move on from this story, stronger than ever.

#4 Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler vs. The Riott Squad (WWE Women's Tag Team Championship) at Clash of Champions 2020

The women's tag team division in WWE seems pretty empty at the moment. The recent break-ups between the IIconics and the Golden Role Models have hardly left a couple of teams left. The company will need to create more tag teams to feud with Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler after Clash of Champions.

But for now, the scene is set for the September pay-per-view. Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott earned an opportunity at the Women's Tag Team Championship, after defeating the IIconics on RAW. One week later, the reunited Riott Squad began a program with Baszler and Jax.

The two teams will face each other at Clash of Champions, in what could be one of the more interesting matches on the card. The lopsided nature of both teams makes for a compelling scenario, as does the relationship between the current Women's Tag Team Champions.

Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax will likely carry on with the titles, continuing their story as the female Team Hell No. However, WWE should keep Morgan and Riott as a tandem even if they fail to win at Clash of Champions. They need more teams.

#3 Asuka vs. Natalya (RAW Women's Championship) at Clash of Champions 2020

On the upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW, Asuka will defend her RAW Women's Championship against Mickie James. However, the two babyfaces have been at odds with the heel duo of Natalya and Lana. The two of them may have something to do with the title match, which in turn has something to do with Clash of Champions.

With another triple threat match more likely for the show, the RAW Women's title will probably be contested in a one-on-one contest only. So we could see Asuka defeat James on RAW before Natalya shows up and challenges the Empress of Tomorrow to a match at Clash of Champions.

Asuka and Natalya are no strangers to each other, wrestling on many occasions in the past. They are both reliable enough to carry out a solid match on pay-per-view. It is hardly the most exciting feud Asuka could have, but at least the match would be good.

Natalya's last singles Championship pursuit came over a year ago, as she had a brilliant match with Becky Lynch at SummerSlam. If the action is similarly compelling at Clash of Champions, there won't be too many complaints from fans regarding the RAW Women's title picture.

#2 Street Profits vs. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura (Unification Match for the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championships) at Clash of Champions 2020

This is a bold prediction, but one which needs to come true sooner rather than later. On this past RAW, the Street Profits were confronted by the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. The two teams will face each other in a literal "clash of champions" next week.

This may very well lead to another match between the pair of Tag Team Champions, at Clash of Champions, with both titles on the line. WWE should unify the RAW and SmackDown tag team titles, as the move would benefit them greatly. It seems like a no-brainer.

Cesaro and Nakamura could have a great match with Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford, one worthy of a unification match for the tag titles. Then, after Clash of Champions, WWE would only need to worry about one tag team division across both brands. Also, the challengers for both titles seem to have run dry.

Lucha House Party can't always remain in the Championship picture, while the Street Profits are yet to begin a new feud for their titles. It would make sense to keep the feud between the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Champions going all the way to Clash of Champions, before committing to a single pair of titleholders.

#1 Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn (Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship) at Clash of Champions 2020

After the events of SmackDown, this match is extremely likely to happen at Clash of Champions. In fact, it could even get confirmed on tonight's episode of Talking Smack especially since AJ Styles is scheduled to be a guest on the show.

The Phenomenal One's Intercontinental Championship match against Jeff Hardy was interrupted by Sami Zayn, who returned a few weeks ago. The Great Liberator claims that he is the "real" Intercontinental Champion, after being stripped off the title while he was off TV.

The issue between Hardy, Zayn, and Styles may very well boil over in a triple threat at Clash of Champions. What a match this could be. As long as Zayn wrestles like his normal self, this might steal the show. All three Superstars are among the best in-ring performers WWE has to offer.

Ten years ago, this match would have been a complete fantasy. Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, and Sami Zayn were all completely away from WWE in 2010, with a triple threat between them for the IC title seeming like a mouth-watering prospect.

The fact that it is set to happen in 2020 just shows WWE's mind-boggling evolution in their product and the wrestlers that are featured. The IC title could be one of the most featured belts at Clash of Champions, thanks to this intriguing angle.
