Considering a possible title reign for Sting if he wins

What would happen if this became a reality?

This Sunday at Night Of Champions, Sting competes in his fourth WWE match, second on pay-per-view, and it is a match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins (who works double duty on the night).

The favourite in this match, according to fans on Facebook, is Rollins, or, if Sting wins, an immediate cash in from Mr Money In The Bank, Sheamus would steal the championship.

My prediction, though, is this. Seth Rollins will win his match against John Cena, but, storywise, he would lose his match to Sting because of fatigue, and Sting would remain WWE World Heavyweight Champion when the night ends.

This immediately opens up another question: Where does Sting go from there?

This is just a dream scenario for me, but I’d like to share it. This is taking into consideration that Sting works full time until January.

So, the first pay-per-view after Night Of Champions is Hell In A Cell. Seeing as Sting is fifty-six years old, it would seem likely that he wouldn’t be competing in a Hell In A Cell match, but it isn’t assured so. If he does compete inside the Cell, I see him either taking on Rollins in a rematch, or perhaps even Triple H, or both. With the first two possibilities, Sting would retain, but when it comes to the last scenario, even though he would retain, there could be a twist, in the eventual turn that Triple H has on Seth Rollins.

That would take both of those men out of the title scene to embark on a feud of their own leading into Survivor Series, but then Sting is open to go anywhere. Seeing that Survivor Series is the fourth biggest show of the year, it would have to be someone special.

A dream match

For this reason, perhaps a good option for Sting would be Bray Wyatt. Even though, at the moment, he has a high-profile story of his own, by November that could have died down, or, Sting could have been inserted into that as a part of Roman Reigns’ and Dean Ambrose’s stable (with an unknown final man, to be revealed at Night Of Champions).

At Survivor Series, there could then be a series of matches featuring different members of both stables, with Sting and Bray Wyatt headlining the show for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The very premise of that feud is promising. Bray Wyatt would be the one to lose, but it would be a huge boost for him, and his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship match.

This would be the time that Sheamus should cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase. Survivor Series, a year after Sting debuts, he should lose his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Sting took a beating in this match

It would lead into TLC, and Sheamus would defend his championship against Sting in his certified rematch, in a stipulated match of some kind, likely to be a ladder match because of the basis of the pay-per-view. Again, Sting’s age could question this, but if he could hold off sledgehammers at WrestleMania against Triple H, then he should be able to handle this.

The ending of the match should be controversial (in true WCW fashion), and even though Sheamus would retain, it should lead into another match at the Royal Rumble, where something special would happen.

A long way into a hard fought match, Sting would be ready to deliver a Scorpion Death Drop to Sheamus, but then the gong would sound and the lights would go off. The Undertaker would be standing on the ramp, but not moving. Sting would be distracted and then Sheamus would pick up the win. After that, the lights go off again and The Undertaker is gone. Sting is left alone in the ring and the immediate build up for the dream match featuring The Undertaker and Sting at WrestleMania 32 would begin.

I’m not going to touch upon that, as that wasn’t the purpose of the article, but I would say this is my dream title run for Sting. Keep in mind that none of this is true (yet, hopefully), it was something that ran out of my mind, through a keyboard and into this article.

Perhaps this could finally come true
