WWE: Daniel Bryan no longer WWE World Heavyweight Champion; title vacated for Money In The Bank Ladder match

Stephanie and Triple H officially strip Daniel Bryan off his titles

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H finally got what they have been craving for several weeks as the duo officially stripped Daniel Bryan off his titles on Monday Night Raw.

Bryan, who has been suffering from a neck injury for a while now, was declared unfit by his attending doctor, Joseph Maroon, which meant that he wouldn’t be able to return in time and compete against Kane at Money In The Bank pay-per-view.

And no one else other than Stephanie McMahon and her husband Triple H would have delighted from this news as The Authority made their way into the ring to kick off Raw at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, making a blockbuster announcement that they have resolved the situation of the titles.

The arena echoed with boos as Stephanie mocked Bryan before stripping him off his championship belts and leaving the same vacated for a Ladder match at MITB to decide and crown a new champion.

Following the announcement, Alberto Del Rio was introduced as the first contender for the Ladder match after he deservingly qualified for the 7-man Ladder match last week. Randy Orton’s music hit as The Viper was declared to be the second entrant by The Game but not without huge jeers from the crowd.

On the night, two more competitors were decided as Sheamus defeated Bad News Barrett to book his place and Cesaro saw RVD through to earn his spot in the Ladder match.

With the WWE titles on the line for the main event Ladder match, it will be fascinating to see what the WWE officials’ decision will be with regards to the Money In The Bank briefcase. With superstars like BNB, Ziggler, Kofi and more, the briefcase Ladder match can still be a promising spectacle.
