#2 Won’t change hands at Elimination Chamber: WWE Championship

At Elimination Chamber, Drew McIntyre will look to defend his WWE Championship in a brutal matchup. He is scheduled to face five former WWE Champions, including Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston, and Sheamus. While a title change will certainly account for a shocking twist, the creative will prefer to keep the title on McIntyre for a while.

No challenger other than Sheamus have enough momentum on their side to win the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber match. McIntyre has already defeated both Randy Orton and AJ Styles in a title feud. Jeff Hardy and Kofi Kingston are great performers, but they lack the right build-up ahead of the pay-per-view.

While it would have been nice to see Sheamus win the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber, the creative will probably not take that route on Sunday. Following Sheamus’ heel turn, WWE will look to use the history between him and McIntyre for scripting an intense rivalry on RAW that will eventually lead to a more exciting match on Fastlane next month.
