After what has been an explosive week in the WWE, the company finally feels as though they are on the road to this year's WrestleMania.

In a week that has featured several incredible returns, the company has started to reveal its hand when it comes to this year's WrestleMania plans, and with just over two weeks to go until their next event, Fastlane, things are really starting to shape up.

Given recent developments, Fastlane itself has the potential to be one hell of a show. The company has already announced four matches for the card, and they have planted the seeds for several more this week.

Let's take a look at five other matches that could be added to Fastlane to help make it one of the best in the show's history.

#5: Finn Balor vs. Bobby Lashley

Finn Balor has the potential to be one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions in recent memory, all he needs to do first though is put an end to his ongoing feud with former champion, Bobby Lashley.

Lashley has quickly become just another mid-card heel in the WWE, and his lack of mic skills and an overall personality mean that this feud is not as interesting as it should be.

Having Balor pick up a clear and decisive victory over him at Fastlane should draw a line under the feud and allow Balor to move onto something more interesting at WrestleMania 35.

#4: The Shield vs. Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Elias

Roman Reigns' return to the ring on this week's Raw was one of the WWE's most feel-good moments in recent memory, and his actions later in the show, when he teamed with Seth Rollins to save Dean Ambrose from a beat-down, has provided fans with the hope that we may get to see one last Shield match before Dean Ambrose leaves the company later in the year.

Not only does this match make sense from that perspective, but it has numerous other benefits. Firstly, it will help build some momentum for the PPV, secondly, it will help Seth Rollins build up a head of steam before his Mania showdown with Lesnar, and finally, it will help Reigns ease his way into the ring, providing him with a nice platform that can also protect him if needs must.

#3: Andrade 'Cien' Almas vs. Rey Mysterio Vs R-Truth

This match took place on the most recent episode of SmackDown and despite its shortish run-time, it was one of the hottest matches on the show.

Andrade and Rey Mysterio have incredible chemistry in the ring together, while R-Truth is certainly no slouch between the ropes, as he has demonstrated in recent weeks.

This would also operate as a clever way of keeping Andrade and Mysterio away from one on one action until WrestleMania and could also mean that one of the two men will be walking into WrestleMania with the US Title around their waist.

#2: DIY vs. Ricochet and Aleister Black vs. The Revival

If there was one word to describe the WWE's recent NXT 'call-ups', then it would be odd. The decision to bring up two of the brand's champions (at the time, at least) along with two of their hottest babyface talents was met with somewhat of a confused reaction.

The company is yet to make it clear as to whether or not these call-ups are permanent, and if they are, which brand the stars belong to.

Things were made a little murkier on this week's shows when Ricochet and Aleister Black, who are now apparently a tag-team, wrestled on both Raw and SmackDown, picking up victories over The Revival, and the newly formed team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev, respectively.

If the WWE is going to go forward with this quartet operating as two tag-teams, then the most logical step, given that they have both registered victories over The Revival, would be to have a triple-threat match at Fastlane.

Not only would this give the new talent a chance to show what they are capable of, but it would also allow The Revival to flourish and would provide the Raw Tag-Team scene with some much-needed legitimacy as WrestleMania continues to get closer.

#1: Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair

The on-going feud between Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey is set to culminate at WrestleMania 35 when the three women could potentially headline the show.

The only issue the WWE is facing right now, from a kayfabe perspective at least, is that Becky Lynch has been officially removed from the match.

The easiest solution to that issue, of course, is to set up some sort of match at Fastlane between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

The two women have incredible chemistry in the ring, and if booked correctly, the match could make both women look strong heading into Mania.

Having Ronda Rousey get involved in the finish could set up a nice three-way staredown to close the show and provide the WWE with their money shot for all of their promotional material in the final build to Mania as well.
