WWE/GFW News: Former Raw GM's hilarious reaction to fan asking if he would buy GFW

What's the story?

Global Force Wrestling might not be doing too well right now. Reports suggest that it is a money pit and Anthem Sports is already looking to sell the professional wrestling company. Eric Bischoff was recently asked if he had any interest in buying GFW and his response was downright hilarious.

In case you didn't know...

Eric Bischoff has done a lot of things apart from working in the professional wrestling business. He has a production company, Bischoff Hervey Entertainment, which has produced several television shows including Hardcore Pawn: Chicago and Dope Man.

He spent plenty of time in the ring but his motto "Controversy Creates Cash" isn't just the name of his autobiography. He's always looking for a new opportunity to invest his interests but Bischoff does have his limitations.

We haven't received the best news about Global Force Wrestling recently. They're bleeding money and look like they have no chance for sustainable revenue. Even though they might be starting a streaming service and announced a new deal with Pop TV there's no money in those endeavours.

The fact is Anthem Sports might not want to front the funds necessary to sustain a company while it loses money and rebuilds. After all, there is no certainty for an eventual profit.

The heart of the matter

Eric Bischoff was involved with GFW in the past, back when they were called TNA. He and Hulk Hogan came into power for a period of time which resulted in some pretty noteworthy segments.

But Bischoff said goodbye to Impact Wrestling in 2014 and he hasn't looked back. He also sued the company for unpaid salary and in August 2016 told PW Insider:

"I try to put them both out of my mind so I couldn’t tell you. No comment. I’m in the middle of a lawsuit with them so I can’t really comment."

But now it looks like Bischoff is able to elaborate on his previous opinion of Impact Wrestling and it's pretty great. When one fan asked the former Raw GM if he would be interested in buying GFW if Anthem Sports decides to sell the company he replied:

What's next?

If GFW does eventually get put up for sale it could mean the end of the company as we know it. Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter there are no plans for any further tapings of Impact Wrestling after November's Bound For Glory show.

Hopefully, they'll be able to pull it around because some really cool people work there. But one thing is for sure, if Anthem Sports calls Eric Bischoff, he's not buying GFW.

Eric Bischoff is hilarious when he wants to be and in this clever response, he meshed his love of cars and knowledge of the pro wrestling business. He's seen his fair share of flops and successes in the pro wrestling business and is staying out of GFW's affairs.
