Following the underwhelming SummerSlam storyline between Bayley and Ember Moon, there was a lot more hype around the SmackDown Women’s Championship when Charlotte Flair challenged “The Hugger” for the title at Clash of Champions last month.

However, after Bayley essentially cheated to retain her title at the PPV, it felt like the storyline fizzled out and became a lot more about Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks, as opposed to Bayley and Flair.

“The Queen” made the SmackDown Women’s Champion tap out on the first episode of SmackDown on FOX, so she will now get another opportunity to challenge for the title this Sunday at Hell In A Cell.

The match announcement might seem a little rushed, with WWE trying to cram some extra matches onto the PPV card at the last minute, but it will still be interesting to see who picks up the victory to lead the SmackDown women’s division in the new era on FOX.

Eventually, it seems inevitable that Flair will win the title, becoming a 10-time Champion in the process, but perhaps that can be a big moment on SmackDown. On Sunday, let’s predict that Bayley will get herself disqualified to plant yet another seed for a full-on heel turn.
