WWE spent a lot of time on the feud between Seth Rollins and The Fiend. Everything was booked spectacularly and the two Superstars were the talk of the WWE Universe. Scheduled for an epic Hell in a Cell showdown, what could possibly go wrong?

Fans tuned in to the pay-per-view hoping for a great performance from The Fiend, whom they expected to take the Universal Championship away from Rollins. Even though The Fiend had only battled on one televised bout before this huge match, his gimmick had done more than enough for the fans to envision him as the Universal Champion.

While the match was good until its controversial ending, it ended up being an overbooked bout that only someone like Vince McMahon could have enjoyed.

The match was entrenched in an incredible story, yet the company ended up botching everything, giving The Fiend a win through disqualification. Not only did this do injustice to all the build that had taken place, but it also makes one wonder whether the babyface Rollins is capable of defending his Universal Championship without the use of low-blows and other underhanded tactics.

Maybe the company wants more out of this popular feud, which had taken over social media and the WWE Universe in the past few weeks. Maybe WWE wants the rivalry to come to a dramatic finish at Crown Jewel. The way this match was booked did nothing for either Superstar. The fans lost because of it and expressed their displeasure at the match's conclusion. Will WWE recover this great feud before its too late? The company has a lot of work to do after last night's debacle.
