#4 King Corbin: a flop

King Corbin vs Chad Gable
King Corbin vs Chad Gable

WWE finally gave fans the finish they were hoping to see in this year's King of the Ring tournament, but was it too little too late?

King Corbin vs Chad Gable was a last-minute addition the Hell in a Cell card and the match, much like many of the matches at the event, could have benefitted greatly from more of a proper build-up.

Fortunately for Corbin and Gable, they have history stemming from the finals of the King of the Ring tournament, so their bout at Hell in a Cell felt less thrown together, and the fans were certainly pleased to see Gable (dubbed "Shorty Gable" by Corbin) finally score an upset win over The King.

However, later in the night, Corbin needlessly attacked Chad Gable and left him laying following Gable's win earlier in the evening.

The beatdown from Corbin felt unnecessary did not give Chad Gable enough time to benefit from the big win over The King during the PPV. The beatdown made it look obvious that WWE felt the need to have Corbin even up the odds as quickly as possible and, in my opinion, it led to a Baron Corbin flop despite a good match against Gable.
