WWE Live event results from Sheffield

WWE Live returned for a house show of the blue brand, SmackDown Live. The event came just a day after the latest episode of SmackDown and featured all of the brand's top superstars. SmackDown is the talk of the town in the WWE Universe currently since Backlash is the next PPV on the cards for the promotion. Fans from all around the world will be looking forward to the TV debut of one Shinsuke Nakamura.

However, the main focus at Sheffield on the 11th of May was the WWE Live event which included some great matchups like Tye Dillinger and Breezango vs. The Ascension and Aiden English, Baron Corbin facing off against Mojo Rawley and a Triple threat tag team match between the Usos, American Alpha and the Colons.

The event also featured the blue brand’s singles champions – WWE Champion, Randy Orton, US Champion, Kevin Owens, and Women’s Champion, Naomi.


#1 Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler

‘The Artist known as Shinsuke Nakamura’ and the ‘Show-off’ Dolph Ziggler opened the event at Sheffield. The two continued their rivalry and Nakamura came out on top with a Kinshasa from out of nowhere.

Result: Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Dolph Ziggler


#2 Tye Dillinger and Breezango vs. The Ascension and Aiden English

This match was extremely entertaining thanks to the presence of ‘Perfect 10’ Tye Dillinger. The match had some really bad comedy as well as singing and dancing. There was strong heat for Aiden English, whereas Breezango went over with the crowd. Tye Dillinger and Breezango prevailed in this match.

Result: Tye Dillinger and Breezango defeated The Ascension and Aiden English


#3 Luke Harper vs. Eric Rowan

The match saw the former Wyatt family members face off yet again. Luke Harper won the match by delivering a huge discus clothesline to Rowan. The match was a hard-hitting one, with some great offensive manoeuvres between the two.

Result: Luke Harper defeated Eric Rowan


#4 Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

Kevin Owens started the match with his classic mind-games. He showed some of his great heel work on the mic and even beat Sami Zayn with a pop-up powerbomb. Despite Owens’ win over Zayn, it was the ‘Underdog from the Underground’ that sent Owens packing after the match.

Result: Kevin Owens retained over Sami Zayn


#5 Naomi, Becky Lynch and Charlotte vs. Natalya, Carmella and Tamina Snuka

This match was highly entertaining and featured some really great moments, especially some funny work from James Ellsworth. Naomi, Becky Lynch and Charlotte defeated the Welcoming Committee.

Result: Naomi, Becky Lynch and Charlotte defeated Natalya, Carmella and Tamina Snuka


#6 Baron Corbin vs. Mojo Rawley

This match wasn’t anything special as the two of them haven’t featured for SmackDown as of late. Baron Corbin defeated Mojo Rawley with his finisher, ‘End of Days’.

Result: Baron Corbin defeated Mojo Rawley


#7 The Usos, The Colons and American Alpha in a Triple threat tag team match

The SmackDown tag team champs, The Usos, put on a great match for the WWE Universe as they defeated former champs, American Alpha and new addition to the SmackDown roster, The Colons.

Result: The Usos retained over the Colons and American Alpha


#8 Randy Orton, AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal in a Triple Threat match

The main event matchup was very exciting, with AJ Styles receiving a huge pop from the fans followed by Randy Orton. The match came to an end when Jinder Mahal was caught by an RKO out of nowhere, allowing Orton to retain the title.

Result: Randy Orton retained over AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal
