Huge news on Lucha Underground Season 3

Season 3 for the promotion is fantastic news

Lucha Underground (LU), the fantastic upstart affiliate of the AAA in the United States announced to its cast of wrestlers, backstage officials and everyone involved in the show that season 3 is officially a go.

The announcement was made at the last taping for LU’s season two and is amazing news for both the promotion and wrestling fans everywhere. The report comes from Prowrestlingsheet.com.

LU is one of the best things in professional wrestling and I advise those who haven’t seen it, to check it out for its unique style and fantastic action.

Another huge piece of news from the meeting was that LU will finally be available – if reputable sources are to be believed – on iTunes, which means that those without the El Rey Network and especially viewers in India can finally check the show out.

The announcement was made by producers of the show in a backstage meeting before the taping that the El Rey Network has officially given season three the green light.

Lucha Underground’s rise has caught the attention of the WWE, who were accused of trying to put the promotion out of business. The co-executive producer and former WWE writer Chris DeJoseph revealed that WWE tried to sign the entire LU roster in one go.

Alberto Del Rio, who was making major strides in LU after his WWE snub, was brought right back to the WWE fold. Top LU talents Angelico and Prince Puma were also on WWE’s radar a few months back.

“They (WWE) basically tried to sign our entire roster, and pretty much tried to shut us down,” Chris said.
