WWE Money in the Bank 2016: Top 5 Tweets

Dean Ambrose captured his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship after winning the Money in the Bank briefcase and cashing it in later in the night.

Money In The Bank 2016 will go down as one of the best MITB PPV's in history. It was the best pay-per-view that the WWE has done in a while and was arguably better than WrestleMania 32 itself, depending on who you ask.

Most importantly, the night will forever be remembered as the night that Dean Ambrose finally arrived. Ambrose won the Money in the Bank ladder match and cashed in later on in the night after Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns and finally captured his first World Heavyweight Championship.

The Money in the Bank ladder match itself was spectacular and one of the best we’ve seen. Everyone in the match gave it everything and put on a brilliant match, but Dean Ambrose finally captured the MITB briefcase. Some of the spots in the match looked brutal, especially the Michinoku Driver that Samy Zayn gave Kevin Owens on the ladder.

John Cena and AJ Styles also met for the first time ever and the match did not disappoint with AJ getting the win with a little help from Anderson & Gallows. Overall the show was very very good.

The internet went crazy after Ambrose’s cash in. So, let’s look at the 5 best tweets about Money in the Bank 2016.

5: Is a briefcase too much of a headache?

An inside joke that has gone on in WWE for a while is that the MITB briefcase winner has to carry the briefcase all over the country with him. Many MITB winners have complained about it in the past including Seth Rollins. So, maybe Dean cashed it in immediately so that he doesn’t have to lug it all over the world with him.

@KayfabeNews suggest that Vince should come along with the times and change the MITB briefcase to a Money in the Bank USB stick. Ludicrous and hilarious.

4: Shield Triple Threat!

The first thought we all had when Ambrose won the Money in the Bank ladder match was the possibility of a Shield Triple Threat in the near future, possibly at SummerSlam. @aaronrift felt the same way on Twitter. Little did we all know that Ambrose would cash-in the briefcase later on in the night making a Shield Triple Threat not just a possibility but a certainty.

Fans have been salivating about a Triple Threat between the trio ever since Seth Rollins broke up The Shield in 2014.

3: Del Rio’s one tough dude

When Alberto Del Rio qualified for the Money In The Bank ladder match he was the participant that fans were least excited about, but Del Rio proved what level of a performer he is last night. Del Rio was absolutely vicious during the match and brought his A-game out by hitting opponents with an array of impressive moves.

Whether it was the cross arm-breaker on top of the ladder or the devastating double stomp on the ladder to Cesaro, Del Rio beat the holy hell out of his opponents last night as pointed out by @cagesideseats.

2: A hardcore legend endorses the Lunatic Fringe

Ambrose’s cash-in last night has been met with an overwhelming positive response by both fans and ex-superstars alike.

One ex-legend who was excited by Dean Ambrose finally achieving his childhood dream was hardcore legend @THETOMMYDREAMER. Dreamer tweeted off his delight when he found out about Ambrose’s cash-in.

1: Awwww

The last Tweet is from someone very close to Dean Ambrose’s heart, his girlfriend @ReneeYoungWWE.

Renee’s tweet following Ambrose’s win was full of pride and happiness for her man. She knows, as well as anyone else does, the amount of hardwork Dean has put in over the last few years and everything he’s sacrificed over his career just to get to this moment.

We agree with Renee, Dean Ambrose will make one hell of a champion.

Congratulations Dean, you deserve it.
