WWE Monday Night RAW: 10th February, 2014 - 5 things you can expect from the show

RAW

Things in the WWE are all set to heat up as we move a step closer to the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, which is just a fortnight away now. Feuds are going to get intense and the fans can expect some great action on Monday.

1. Randy Orton winning against another Elimination Chamber opponent

This week, Stephanie McMahon announced that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton, will face every other Elimination Chamber participant before the pay-per-view. The “face of the WWE” faced Daniel Bryan and Christian this past week on Raw and SmackDown respectively, losing to the “Flying Goat” and winning against “Captain Charisma.” Now on Raw he’ll be facing another Elimination Chamber opponent which is probably going to be Antonio Cesaro, then Sheamus for SmackDown and his old rival, John Cena, for the final Raw before the pay-per-view. He is going to win against Cesaro for sure, and is expected to increase the heat for the Elimination Chamber match with his mic work and antics, but it will be a thing to watch if he is able to attract the crowd.

2. An intensifying Daniel Bryan-Kane feud

It’s the latest feud in the WWE, as Corporate Kane chokeslammed Bryan twice this week, and made it clear that no love is lost between the former tag team champions. Although, Bryan wanted his old friend back, Kane told Bryan and the entire WWE Universe that he never considered Bryan his friend. It looks like Kane is going to be a bigger matter of worry for the “Flying Goat” than his five Elimination Chamber opponents, as his WrestleMania date with The Authority’s leader, Triple H, gets closer. Kane is not going to be an easy rival for Bryan as this feud promises The Authority’s complete involvement in this angle, with the intention of harming him. After being the one who lied down in the ring for two consecutive nights, it will be thrilling to see how Bryan goes against the odds on Raw.

3. Announcement of a Batista-Del Rio match for the Elimination Chamber

After weeks of uninteresting storyline involving Batista and Del Rio, it looks like WWE is finally going to announce a match between the two for Elimination Chamber on Raw. But, the fans really don’t care about this feud, more because they know that Batista is going to win the match. Fans were anxious to see a returning Batista, but watching him win the Royal Rumble turned a cheering crowd into a booing crowd. But, the thing is that the fans were never happy about this Batista-Del Rio feud even prior to Batista’s return. That Twitter war never had the fans talking about this feud, and those (post-match) attack segments aren’t the things fans watch WWE for. With this feud, Del Rio has gone down the pecking order and after losing to Batista, which he will, at Elimination Chamber, his WrestleMania run is going to be over before March.

4. Another Shield/Wyatt Family promo… or maybe not

The Shield and Wyatt Family’s post match promos which we have seen a lot and enjoyed a lot as well, might continue on the next episode of Raw, or WWE might come around with a twist and show something more intense than just words. It’s actually getting too much repetitive and slightly boring, to see these two groups taunt each other on the jumbotron every night after the other group’s match has ended. Two weeks of continuous promos have gave this feud the right launchpad, but now Elimination Chamber is just two weeks away, and WWE needs to heat this feud up with some in-ring confrontation between these two factions. The right amount of heat will give this feud the perfect ending, which will be a dramatic disbanding of The Shield.

5. John Cena’s return from injury

John Cena’s last televised match was the six-man Elimination Chamber qualifying match, where he teamed up with Sheamus and Daniel Bryan to take on The Shield, but after suffering an eye injury last weekend Cena had to stay out of action for some time. As Wrestlezone.com has stated, John Cena has been cleared to return to in-ring action, after recovering from an eye injury which he suffered last weekend. He returned during a house show on Friday in Oakland, CA as he faced the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton, in the main event. John Cena’s return makes it a possibility that we might see all six Elimination Chamber participants in action on Monday.
