WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 10 October, 2016

Who will Mick find for him?

With No Mercy out of the way, the focus of WWE has completely shifted to Hell in a Cell, which is the exclusive pay-per-view of Monday Night Raw. WWE added two more matches to Hell in a Cell on Sunday with Seth Rollins getting a rematch against Kevin Owens while Sasha and Charlotte would fight for the Women’s championship as well.

The new announcements have made Raw more exciting. And apart from this, there are also rumours about Vince McMahon being unhappy about how the product is going. If this is indeed a true story, expect big changes during this week’s Raw. Here is a look at the things we could look forward to.

#5 The champ is here

Sasha won the title last week

Sasha Banks and Charlotte fought for the Women’s championship on last week’s Raw main event. As the show went off-air, it was Sasha that raised the championship over her head to mark her second reign. The rumours suggested that Sasha would’ve never lost the title in the first place if WWE had known that her injury was not serious.

Now that the title is back with her, we could expect a long reign from The Boss and it all starts on this week’s Raw. A title defence at Hell in a Cell is booked and now the question would be: will it happen inside Hell in a Cell.

#4 Heart of Cruiserweight division

Kendrick is after Perkins

WWE’s current Cruiserweight division is still in its infancy. The WWE Universe is yet to get a hold on most of the characters in the division. A familiar face to them is Brian Kendrick and he is perhaps the most complicated character in the division right now. There are so many layers to Kendrick that this is actually helping the Cruiserweight division a lot.

His feud with TJ Perkins was a good choice to kick start the division and it looks far from over. We could see another chapter of the feud unfold on Raw this week and watch out for the brilliance of Kendrick as well.

#3 Strowman needs competition

Who will challenge him?

Braun Strowman has been on a squashing spree for a long time. Ever since he was split from the Wyatt family, WWE had been feeding him with jobbers that he’d squash under a minute. Strowman last week went on to demand a better competition for him and Mick Foley is bound to provide the same this week.

The rumours had suggested that Luke Harper might show up to answer the challenge, but now that Harper is on SmackDown alongside Bray Wyatt, we can expect a big surprise on Raw this week. With the rumours about Goldberg’s return getting stronger, will WWE bring back Goldberg against Strowman? A distant possibility perhaps.

#2 Rollins struggling with Injury

Rollins has been struggling with injury for some time

As mentioned in the introduction, WWE booked a title match between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins for Hell in a Cell, the health of Rollins has been a major question mark. WWE has been avoiding Rollins from getting extremely physical on Raw ever since his match against Owens at the last pay-per-view.

This has been a major hurdle in building up the Rollins – Owens feud. And since we have no clear updates about the situation of Rollins, it would be interesting to see how the creative team books him this time around. Hopefully, Rollins is completely fit so as to give us the best buildup possible for Hell in a Cell.

1: The Jericho show

A singles feud for Jericho inbound?

As each week passes by, Chris Jericho proves again and again that he gets better with age. Last week, he had a great segment with the celebrities that came in and his association with Kevin Owens is giving the fans must-watch television.

With Seth Rollins on the sideline due to injury, WWE has been using Jericho – Owens relationship as a cover up to keep the Universal champion busy and it has been working well so far.

But the creative juices of Jericho could be redirected to somewhere else ahead of Hell in a Cell and we could get a clear picture when this week’s Raw rolls out.
