WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: March 13, 2017

How will Reigns react?

A major shift in the landscape is what happened last week on Monday Night Raw. WWE managed to transition from the fallout of Fastlane to the build of WrestleMania in an effortless manner. Most of the booking decisions that WWE made went on to make headlines as well, with the most notable one being the return of The Undertaker.

The Phenom confronted Roman Reigns and gave hints about the possible direction of both the superstars. There were developments in the other major storylines of Raw as well and this week, all of these are likely to be continued. We will be taking a look at the possible segments that WWE might roll out this week on the show.

#5 Crowning the contenders

Which team will get the shot

The fate of Raw’s Tag Team division will be determined this week. Enzo Amore and Big Cass will battle against Cesaro and Sheamus to decide who goes on to face Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows at WrestleMania.

WWE has built up the match for Monday Night from a brawl which happened last week on Raw and considering how the Tag Team division is laid out, it would be hard to see one team winning the match outright. A complicated ending which might, in turn, give both the teams a shot at the Championship at WrestleMania could be the path that WWE decides to take.

#4 Will it become a fatal four-way match?

Will Bayley have more headaches?

Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Bayley have guaranteed their places for the Raw Women’s Championship match which is scheduled for WrestleMania. Currently, the triple threat match will represent the Women’s division, but there is one more name that could get pushed into the match: Nia Jax.

Before WWE confirmed that Sasha, Charlotte and Bayley would be featured at WrestleMania for the title, the rumours about a fatal four-way match for the gold were strong. The only thing that is missing is the inclusion of Nia into the match. If WWE does have plans to include Nia in the match, expect her to come out strong this week on the show.

#3 Reigns needs to bounce back

How will Reigns react?

As mentioned earlier, Roman Reigns had a confrontation with The Undertaker last week on Raw and it was the major talking point of the week that went by. The match between Reigns and The Undertaker for WrestleMania is almost confirmed, and we could get an official mention this week on Raw. But the reaction of Reigns will be what makes everyone tune in.

Reigns was on the receiving end last week, and WWE has a golden opportunity to turn him heel on the show. If Reigns comes out and delivers a strong promo against The Undertaker without any shades of respect, the heel turn of Reigns would be underway. However, it remains to be seen whether WWE will pull it off.

#2 Some missing links

Jericho - Owens feud should be pushed forward

When Roman Reigns and The Undertaker had their showdown on Raw last week, Braun Strowman was the loser. He backed away from The Undertaker and the fans are still wondering what WWE has in store for Strowman. This is one of the missing links that WWE needs to sort out this week. Similarly, Finn Balor made his in-ring return this past week, and his return to television is long overdue.

Samoa Joe, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are four other names that need solid booking this week and Rollins, who is yet to be cleared to compete against Triple H at WrestleMania, will have some sort of impact on the show as well.

#1 How will Goldberg react?

The champ needs a strong showing

Goldberg was laid out by Brock Lesnar last week. The reigning WWE Universal champion was supposed to gain some momentum from his huge title win at Fastlane, but instead, WWE allowed Lesnar to get the upper hand. In the long run, this benefits the feud because Lesnar needs to be projected as a worthy title contender.

WWE Rumors: WWE Universal Championship plans after WrestleMania 33

It will be interesting to see how Goldberg reacts from such a setback. The feud needs a huge spotlight as both superstars are part-timers and not having them on-screen for a long time could hurt WWE’s WrestleMania plans. Keep an eye out for Paul Heyman as well since he could be a trump card for WWE to move the storyline forward.
