WWE Raw Preview: 3 October, 2016

The Queen vs The Boss

It’s Monday and for wrestling fans, it means only one thing: Monday Night Raw. WWE will be rolling out another edition of their flagship show and there are a string of things worth looking forward to. The ratings war between SmackDown and Raw is on a full-fledged mode. Though Raw has the better numbers comparatively, SmackDown clearly has the upper hand and this is something everyone in the company is aware of.

The upcoming edition of Raw could change the same as WWE has lined up some interesting segments for the show. So here is a look at the storylines that WWE might touch this week on Raw.

Sasha and Charlotte go head to head

Huge title match

Make no mistake about it: this is a pay-per-view quality match. Sasha Banks and Charlotte will be going head to head for the Women’s championship this week on Raw. Sasha was not pinned during the Clash of Champions match and this is the apparent reason why she is getting a title shot against Charlotte on Raw this week.

The rumor mill suggests that WWE would’ve never taken off the championship from Sasha if they had known that her injury wasn’t serious. So a title change could well be on the cards this week as WWE would also be desperate to get some headlines from their weekly show.

The dysfunctional team

Title bound

Last week, WWE paired up Sheamus and Cesaro to form an interesting dysfunctional tag team. The idea poked up after the best of seven series between Cesaro and Sheamus ended in a draw and it has been working well so far. The duo picked up a solid win last week and they will be looking to pile up momentum this week as well.

If Cesaro and Sheamus manage to coexist for the coming weeks, it wouldn’t be too late before they enter the Tag Team championship scene. At the same time, they have this air of unpredictability that the fans would love to see.

Rise of United States champion

What next?

Roman Reigns won the United States championship back in Clash of Champions when he defeated Rusev. Reigns being the champion immediately elevate the title and WWE will be looking to push him. Last week, the United States championship was sidelined for one reason or the other, but we could expect Reigns to get a good spot on this week’s show.

Reigns vs. Rusev will indeed be the first feud that Reigns will be involved in but afterwards, WWE could throw in some interesting names. Alternatively, they could take a different path altogether and give Reigns a high profile feud on the go.

Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson to appear on Raw

Kutcher incoming

Monday Night Raw will get some Hollywood limelight this week thanks to Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson. Kutcher, known for his roles in Hollywood films like Just Married, Dude, Where's My Car?, and a handful of other films, will be appearing with Masterson to hype their Netflix series Raunch.

While it would be easy to overlook celebrity segments on Raw, this one might steal the show because of one man: Chris Jericho. Kutcher and Masterson will be on a segment with Jericho and as we are aware of the history of Jericho with celebrities, this would probably turn out to be a must-watch segment this week.

The That 70’s show and 2 and a Half Men star last appeared on RAW as a host in 2010.

Rollins after Owens

Rollins will be after Owens

Kevin Owens stood tall alongside his best friend Chris Jericho last week. They headlined the show in a tag team match but the same was due to the injury that Seth Rollins had suffered. As Rollins was suffering from the impact of his match at Clash of Champions, WWE avoided Rollins getting physical throughout last week, but it could change.

WWE needs to build up the Owens and Rollins feud soon and with Jericho being invested in the Guest stars segment, Owens will be on his own when Rollins comes for him. The friction between Rollins and Mick Foley is a subplot worth noting as well.
