WWE Monday Night Raw preview: November 14, 2016

A must book segment

The importance of the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw is paramount. It will be one of WWE’s last major stops before they roll out Survivor Series and there are a lot of things that needs to be settled. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan have been announced for an appearance at the show and this would be enough to tune in.

But at the same time, a potential showdown between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg is another thing that would make matters interesting on Monday Night Raw. There are a handful of other reasons as well which make this week’s Raw worth watching and we are going to list them down:

#5 The guests from SmackDown

Entering hostile environment

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan are scheduled to appear this week on Raw and the appearance would be WWE’s first chance to do a cross-brand promotion for Survivor Series. The announcement of Shane as the last member of Team SmackDown makes this appearance even more important to the buildup.

Though these two might get a warm welcome from the fans, expect hostility from the Raw roster. Segments involving Shane, Bryan and the Monday Night Raw members like Owens, Jericho and New Day are guaranteed to be entertaining and the appearance of these two could be the backbone of the three-hour show this week.

Also, as a long shot, we might even see a Raw vs. SmackDown brawl if WWE wants to go that way.

#4 Pursuit of Zayn

Needs to get on the mic

Similar to Brian Kendrick, Sami Zayn will be having the pressure on him when he goes up against Dolph Ziggler at Survivor Series. Zayn and Ziggler had been building up the match with short exchanges on Twitter, but nothing builds a match better than actual promos.

Zayn will probably have the opportunity to deliver a promo this week and we can certainly expect him to ooze intensity.

The second thing that WWE needs to showcase about the feud is the support that Zayn has from the Raw roster. It would not only hype the match but will also put forward the Raw vs. SmackDown rivalry that WWE needs to showcase at Survivor Series.

#3 Team Raw sticking together

Jericho and Owens form a notable subplot

Three Raw vs. SmackDown matches will take place at Survivor Series on Sunday night. The team slots are completely filled and unless WWE wants to pull off a big surprise, the superstars are not going to change. Raw will be the last stop for the superstars on the red brand to show that they are on the same page.

But with the wide variety of characters involved, it is hard to see something like this happen. WWE is bound to throw in a lot of subplots for the members of Team Raw.

Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho as captains, the lone-wolf run of Braun Strowman, and Charlotte having problems with the Women on her team are just some of the subplots that need to be watched out for.

#2 Brian Kendrick and his reaction

Huge pressure on Kendrick

WWE made a huge move last week when they announced Kalisto vs. Brian Kendrick for Survivor Series. The Cruiserweight championship would be on the line and if Kalisto gets the win, the entire Cruiserweight division will have to make a jump to SmackDown.

The pressure on the shoulders of Kendrick is huge and at the same time, it also puts TJ Perkins and Noam Dar on hold. Kendrick needs to have a reaction to the whole announcement and it should have its own segment on Raw.

Kendrick, with his brilliant character and mic skills, is bound to impress the fans and it would be one of the dark horse segments of this week’s Monday Night Raw.

#1 A potential showdown

Time for the showdown

The biggest problem that WWE faced with Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar were the on and off appearances of the duo.

Both superstars are part-timers with the company and it took a lot of effort from the creative team to keep the feud between them going throughout the past few weeks. But if there is anything missing from the storyline, it’s a face to face showdown between Lesnar and Goldberg.

As is the case with most of the other segments mentioned in the list, Raw would be WWE’s last chance of hyping this huge match and it wouldn’t be complete without having Goldberg and Lesnar in the same ring.

While both the wrestlers getting physical would be ideal, WWE could bring in some security to pull them apart so that none of them looks weak going into Survivor Series. No matter which way WWE intends to book this, a confrontation is needed to breathe in some much-needed hype into the match.
