New world champion, shocking heel turn and huge match on TNA

The TNA World Championship picture is a rollercoaster

The odds are stacked against EC3, indicating a possible face turn

Veteran wrestler Matt Hardy can now chalk up another crucial victory under his belt after his victory over Ethan Carter III earned him the title of TNA’s World Heavyweight Champion, which is his second in the franchise – reports dailywrestlingnews.com.

Tonight will see the Career vs. Title main event unfold, which features Hardy, who pulled a double heel. Hardy can now count Tyrus and wife Reby Sky with him as allies after Tyrus turned on EC3.

Hardy and EC3 have been at each other’s throats for the World Heavyweight Title since the summer of 2015. Matt was defeated in two title matches but managed to snatch the honour in a Triple Threat with Drew Galloway at Bound For Glory in October.

The wrestler was forced to give up the title due to a storyline injunction from EC3, leading to the TNA World Title Series that dragged on for a long time. The finals took place on January 5th and featured EC3 besting Hardy to win the unclaimed World Heavyweight Title. However, it took little time for Hardy steal the belt back from his rival. The match unfolded on the 8th of this month, leaving EC3 as champion for a mere three days.
