El Hefe Patron.

What's the story?

TMZ Sports recently caught up with former Alberto Del Rio to promote MMA Promotion Combate Americas, as well as his role as an executive with the upstart company.

In case you didn't know...

Alberto Del Rio(El Patron) was named President of Combate Americas in mid-2016. However, the actual role was more of an on-air figurehead with very little authority, if any at all.

Combate Americas is a Hispanic MMA promotion which began airing in 2014. The company began with more of a reality television feel.

The heart of the matter

During the interview with TMZ, Alberto was asked about the possibility of him ever returning to WWE. Alberto was very adamant about being finished with the company and jokingly suggested that he would rather join the MMA fighters inside the cage at Combate Americas.

The TMZ reporter also asked about Paige and if she would be making a WWE return. Here's what he had to say about that:

She's getting ready to return to WWE. She is in Orlando at the moment, she's been there for the last 6 weeks. It's going to happen pretty soon, I cannot give you any more details because it will get her in trouble. They told her to lay low and to not talk much about it.

What's next?

With Survivor Series right around the corner, Paige could be a potential game-changer for either brand if given an opportunity to participate in the event.

It's also worth noting that WWE still has the return of Clash of Champions slated for next month as well, so there are plenty of big opportunities on the horizon for the Anti-Diva. Let's not forget the biopic about her family is set to release soon as well.

Authors take

Paige is in a unique situation at the moment. For years she was one of the most adored women in wrestling, but her relationship with Alberto Del Rio caused somewhat of a rift between her and her fans, for whatever reason.

For the past several months, many fans doubted she would ever return. However, it now appears her return is quickly approaching and I believe now there has been enough time elapsed that fans will welcome the former champ back with open arms. One thing is certain, the product could certainly use her services at this time.
