WWE News: Alberto Del Rio gets into fight backstage at Lucha Libre show

Did Del Rio get into another scuffle regarding Paige?

Alberto Del Rio was present for an IWRG (International Wrestling Revolution Group) event on December 11th, right outside Mexico City, where his brother wrestled at the main event. After the event, according to Lucha Blog, Del Rio was involved in a backstage fight with a local talent.

Del Rio along with Paige went backstage after the show, and a local Luchador named Alan Xtreme (better known as Rafy of the Ninja Turtles) was close by. What proceeded has not been clarified by the report on Lucha Blog, which states that either Del Rio thought that Rafy touched him, or touched Paige, which then led to the two punching each other backstage.

The brawl continued in the hallway, which connects the locker room to the fan entrance. As a result, many fans saw the fight, which was broken up shortly thereafter.

The report also stated that Rafy’s face had been disfigured by Del Rio’s punches, and a Twitter user stated that he is in bad shape, but stable; implying that he has been hospitalised.

Lucha Blog stated that IWRG and the people reporting the show are avoiding any mention of the fight backstage, but it is being discussed on Facebook amongst fans and other wrestlers.

A local luchador posted a statement about the incident, threatening legal action against the former WWE Superstar:

The twitter user who posted the screenshot of the statement gave a brief translation, saying

Rafy himself took to Facebook to make a statement on the situation:

The statement translates roughly to:

This seems to contradict the statement his friend made about suing Del Rio. There were two photos posted on Facebook of Del Rio and Paige at the event:

The world of Lucha Libre is quite shady, so while Rafy may have posted that everything is fine, his friends seem to think otherwise. Some believe that there could have been something that happened between both parties that may have led to Rafy silencing the issue.
