The American rose to prominence and gained popularity after featuring in the sports entertainment show, American Ninja Warrior, in 2014. After not qualifying in previous attempts, Catanzaro qualified for the first time in 2014, and also made history by becoming the first woman to finish the American Ninja Warrior's qualifying course.

The heart of the matter

WWE announced on January 18, 2018 that Catanzaro has been officially signed to NXT and will report to the WWE Performance Center.

Catanzaro was first invited for a trial last year in January, at the WWE Performance Center, and the WWE confirmed her signing during the Mae Young Classic in August.

Catanzaro's official signing comes on the back of the announcement of several signings this past week. The WWE announced the signings of Ricochet, War Machine, and Candice LeRae in the last few days, and with the rumoured signing of Ethan Carter III, WWE has started 2018 on a positive note.

What's next?

It will be quite sometime before we see her in the NXT ring and she will most likely be training in the Performance Center for the foreseeable future.
