What's the story?

AEW Superstar Chris Jericho recently revealed an interesting tidbit behind Batista's return to WWE, on his "Talk is Jericho" podcast.

Jericho stated that WWE called Batista 10 minutes after Jericho posted a picture with him on Instagram.

In case you didn't know. . .

Last month, Batista came back to WWE during Ric Flair's 70th birthday celebration on Monday Night Raw. The Animal was seen dragging an unconscious Flair out of his room and addressing Triple H.

The match was set between Triple H and Batista for WrestleMania, with The Game putting his career on the line. The showdown was teased last year at SmackDown 1000, when Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, and Ric Flair shared the ring in a much-awaited Evolution reunion. Batista stirred things up by stating that Triple H had never beaten him. A scuffle was teased but Ric Flair managed to prevent it from happening.

The heart of the matter

Jericho recently stated that WWE has banned him and are removing his references from their social media. On the latest episode of "Talk is Jericho", the former WWE Undisputed Champion talked in depth about the upcoming match between The Animal and The Game.

He went on to reveal that WWE called Batista minutes after Jericho had posted a picture of them together on Instagram, the photo-sharing app. You can listen to the audio, which begins at the 55:15 mark.

He was lobbying for it, and they were giving him the runaround. I posted a picture of us together, online on Instagram... they called him back in 10 minutes! No joke! funny stuff, right?

What's next?

Jericho might be speaking the truth here, but the fact can't be discounted that WWE has been teasing this match for a long time now. There could be a possibility of the Instagram picture making WWE think that Batista could sign with AEW, leading to the promotion calling Batista and securing him for WrestleMania 35.

What do you think about this interesting tidbit? Could it be possible that WWE panicked on seeing the picture and immediately called Batista?
