What's the story?

Chris Jericho never seems to be away from the news for the right or wrong reasons. Following the 2019 Royal Rumble, the former WWE Superstar sent a warning to three of the biggest wrestling promotions in the US - WWE, ROH, and Impact Wrestling

In case you didn't know...

Jericho is now signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), the new promotion started by Shahid Khan and his sony, Tony, and also has Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, and Cody Rhodes as vice presidents.

The promotion's first show will be Double or Nothing, which will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25, 2019.

Jericho has revealed that he will also be wrestling at New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), but will no longer compete in the WWE.

The heart of the matter

Following the Royal Rumble, Jericho tweeted to WWE, Ring of Honor, and Impact Wrestling, telling them that AEW is interested in signing 6-8 of their Superstars, and ended the tweet by saying "We don't need you!".

A few WWE Superstars have been linked with a move to AEW, including The Revival, the team of Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, as well as Tye Dillinger and Zack Ryder. These Superstars don't have significant storylines on WWE television currently and have not been used well by WWE's creative team.

Jericho also added another tweet where he criticised Brock Lesnar, telling him to "pull up his pants and lose the gut... the dream is over dude".

What's next?

Jericho will next be mostly seen at AEW's Double or Nothing show although there is no indication as to whom he will wrestle. Jericho spoke about his desire to face Hiroshi Tanahashi, so that could be one match that may happen on NJPW.
