What’s the story?

During the latest edition of the E&C Podcast, veteran WWE superstar Christian shared an amazing story about the time period when he and his best friend Edge were both World Champions.

In case you didn’t know…

Back in the year 2007, there was a certain time period when former WWF Tag Team Champions Edge and Christian were both world champions in two different promotions. From a particular time period between 5th to 13th May in 2007, “The Rated R Superstar” Edge was WWE World Heavyweight Champion in WWE, whereas, Christian held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in TNA and it was definitely one of the most memorable time periods for Edgeheads and Christian’s Peeps.

The heart of the matter

On the latest episode of the E&C Podcast, Christian talked about the time period when he discovered that he and his close buddy Edge held the top titles in their respective promotions. According to Christian, he claimed that it was an absolutely amazing feeling for him when he first found out about Edge’s World Heavyweight Championship win over John Cena back in 2006, when “The Rated R Superstar” cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to capture the WWE’s top prize.

“It was funny, I remember I was not gone long from WWE and I didn’t get the pay-per-view where [Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank contract]. And somebody called me and said, ‘Hey Adam just won and I didn’t even know. I was like, ‘oh my god that’s amazing.”- Christian stated.

Following Edge’s World Title win, Christian also quickly captured the NWA World Title in TNA and then shortly afterward, he and Edge apparently posed for a photo with each other along with their World Titles, which Christian claimed to be a really funny experience at the time.

“Then going forward [Edge] came over to my place when [he] was living here in Tampa and we had kinda taken a picture — man it was way before if there was Twitter or something was around at this point it would have blown people’s minds — but we took a picture with each other’s title which was pretty funny.”- Christian added.

What’s next?

Both Christian and Edge are currently retired from in-ring competition, however, both men have been making one-off sporadic appearances for the WWE ever since.

Author’s Take

Edge and Christian were two of the most amazing in-ring competitors I have ever seen and in my opinion, Christian deserves to go into the WWE Hall of Fame sometime down the road and the only person who I believe should induct him is non-other than his best friend Edge.
