What's the story?

The Undertaker may not have been present on RAW on this week's episode, but a very interesting name was spotted in the backstage area. This was none other than 'Cowboy' James Storm, a name best associated with Impact Wrestling.

Even as the internet went into a frenzy, Cageside Seats reported that he was just visiting friends and nothing more. It does not seem likely that Storm has been contacted for a WWE run.

In case you didn't know...

James Storm was a man who was part of Impact Wrestling from the very start of the promotion, until very recently. He even had a brief NXT run in the middle, but unfortunately, it did not translate into a full-fledged run thereafter.

Storm has been very vocal about signing with WWE. In our own interactions with him, he's not been opposed to a Beer Money reunion.

The heart of the matter

The wrestling fraternity is a close-knit one and performers across promotions still do maintain contact with one another. James Storm is a household name for his contribution to professional wrestling and it wasn't a surprise to see him come out to hang with his friends in WWE.

As for a run in the future, it's impossible to really predict at this point in time. Storm is a master of psychology and could be a big asset even as a trainer.

What's next?

James Storm's departure is still being felt in Impact Wrestling today. It will be interesting to see what's next for The Cowboy, going forward. Whatever it may be, we're sure he will be great.

Author's take

I had a chance to interview James Storm during his India visit and later again, during a teleconference. Needless to say, I'm a bit partial towards the man.

I wish him all the best, wherever the next chapter of his life takes him.
