What's the story?
Elias may have turned babyface in the recent past. But he still has a bone to pick with a certain gentleman named John Cena.
Elias was recently interviewed by Commercial Appeal in character. During the course of the interview, he mentioned how both him and Cena have clashing philosophies.

Elias is an anomaly in WWE in many ways. While he wasn't a featured superstar in NXT, Elias was an instant sensation in the main roster, rising up the ranks with his hilariously composed songs.
John Cena and Elias have even clashed in the past, but both men are good guys at the moment.
The last time Elias was seen on TV, he pointed Braun Strowman in the direction of Baron Corbin. John Cena took part in a Fatal Fourway match on RAW, which was won by Finn Balor.
The heart of the matter
Elias recalled all the times that John Cena had made life miserable for him. He said the following about the leader of Cenation:
John Cena has been a thorn in my side almost my entire career. It seems like every big event, whatever it may be, he seems to pop up and make life tough for Elias. It probably comes down to jealousy.
Elias even went on to mention how many similarities the two men share. But he went on to point out that what makes them different is their differing philosophy:
There are a lot of similarities in our careers: the music, the crowd (reactions), things like that. But the difference is our mentalities. He's got the 'never give up' mentality. It's a very self-involved mentality. Whereas, I'm saying, 'Walk with Elias. I'll take care of you.' It's just clashing philosophies.
What's next?
John Cena has said that he'll be part of the Royal Rumble match. But his filming schedule may keep him from having a lengthy run, following the match. Elias will continue to be an important figure on RAW.
