WWE News: ROH COO says door is open for Daniel Bryan to return

Could
Could he go home to ROH?

What's the story?

Daniel Bryan might never be cleared by WWE doctors for an in-ring return but that doesn't mean he can't go elsewhere. Before coming to WWE, he made a huge name for himself in Ring Of Honor and ROH COO Joe Koff recently spoke to Fansided and said that he'd love to have the American Dragon back.

In case you didn't know...

Before coming to WWE, Daniel Bryan was one of the most popular wrestlers in Ring Of Honor. Fans of the independent promotion flocked to watch him perform in the ring as he picked up several accolades along with the ROH World and Pure Championship.

However, in February 2016, Daniel Bryan announced his retirement from wrestling after WWE doctors told him that he wasn't allowed to wrestle again due to the head trauma he sustained throughout his career. However, there have been rumblings suggesting that the Aberdeen native is looking to resume his in-ring on the independent circuit.

The heart of the matter

ROH's Joe Koff recently spoke about many subjects including the company's upcoming Death Before Dishonor PPV which will see Cody defend his ROH World Championship against Minoru Suzuki.

During his conversation, Koff brought up the possibility of Daniel Bryan coming back to ROH and it sounds like he's leaving the door wide open for the former WWE Champion.

“Well I don’t think it’s any secret, and all the previous ROH wrestlers know, that they are always welcome back in Ring of Honor. This is their home, so to speak. We never chided anybody for leaving for what they thought were greener pastures. And look, a lot of them have succeeded on a far greater platform than we could have provided them at the time."

Ring Of Honor's COO went on to clarify he'd love to have Daniel Bryan come back to ROH even though he never worked with him personally. After all, who wouldn't want a name like that on their roster?

“So if Bryan Danielson would love to come back, I didn’t work with him personally while he was here, but I would personally welcome him back.”

What's next?

We could very well see Daniel Bryan take the independent wrestling world by storm in 2018. Rumors are he could be able to get out of his WWE contract which is keeping him from in-ring competition next year.

Author's take

As long as Daniel Bryan is able to stay safe and happy, that's all I need to hear. If he can find medical professionals who are willing to work with him and clear him to compete that would be even better.

With all of the amazing talent going through ROH right now, there are several dream matches possible. Daniel Bryan already said he'd like to take on every member of the Bullet Club, and some of those matches very well could take place in ROH.
