What’s the story?
A recent social media interaction between John Cena and Roman Reigns recently sent the internet into a tizzy and has led to a chain of events, culminating in fans from both sides calling for a match between the two WWE Superstars.

In case you didn’t know...
John Cena hasn’t appeared on WWE’s main roster programming since Wrestlemania 33 and is presently busy with his movie obligations. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns has been active on the WWE’s European tour, besides regular appearances on the promotion’s weekly TV programs.
The heart of the matter
Cena sent out a Tweet thanking Reigns for lending him “the ol’ yard”, to which the latter responded acknowledging John’s weight-lifting prowess, whilst noting that he knows the Leader of the Cenation would rather be on tour with the rest of the WWE roster.

The WWE Universe has taken note of the social media conversation between the two WWE Superstars and despite the apparent mutual respect between Cena and Reigns, fans of both performers began to chalk out scenarios of a potential John Cena vs. Roman Reigns matchup.
What’s next?
As we had previously reported, Cena will complete his movie obligations by mid-June but his WWE comeback may be pushed back to the month of July.
Meanwhile, the Big Dog, who was initially booked in a feud against Braun Strowman, will now be involved in an alternate storyline on Monday Night RAW, that’s yet to be determined.
Author’s take
John Cena and Roman Reigns are two of the most physically-gifted Superstars in the WWE, and a matchup between the two genetically-superior powerhouses would be awesome to witness.
Nevertheless, Reigns is rumoured to be facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 next year, and although a potential Mania matchup against Cena may be on the cards, the WWE Universe may have to wait a bit longer for the dream matchup to transpire.
