We will soon see what Paige’s fate is in the WWE. Her brother Zak revealed that Paige was not leaving WWE and that she would be returning to the road and Raw this week. However, Paige is still injured so if she does return, it will most likely be in a non-wrestling role. Either way, it will be interesting to see Paige’s addition to the Raw women’s roster once more.
Though the Raw female roster has the names, the booking has been considerably worse than Smackdown Live, who only have seven females on their roster. While Raw has been talking about the revolution and progressing, the real progression has been on Smackdown Live. Essentially, Raw has been the talk and Smackdown Live has been the action. And we all know actions speak louder than words.
There were heavy rumors that Paige was following her boyfriend Alberto Del Rio out of the WWE, but it looks like cooler heads prevailed and that she has decided to think about the long-term of her career. She addressed the issue on twitter saying:
"First, I'd like to thank all my fans for their love and support the last few weeks. Let me begin by saying that the rumors that I'm leaving WWE are completely false! I certainly look forward to returning back to action at some point, once my injury is treated and on a healthy return. Although I was disappointed by my suspension, I respect the WWE's Wellness Policy.
“However, let me be clear that I was not suspended for failing a drug test, it was merely due to a procedural issue. I took the test, I passed it. I arranged said test to happen after I wasn't at my home when Aegis contacted me. So I drove 200 miles to do it. Unfortunately, I didn't do it in time, according to Aegis. Once again, thank you for all the love and support."
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that at one point before her Wellness Policy suspension, WWE had even decided to fire Paige, but they changed their minds about it. The probable reason was their unhappiness with her relationship with Alberto Del Rio. It has been quite clear that WWE has not been supportive of their relationship. But now, with Del Rio gone, it looks like things may slowly start to get back to normal.
