What’s the story?

John Cena is now being advertised for the Elimination Chamber PPV as well as the RAW tapings a week after the event.

As we’d previously reported, Cena will also be appearing at WWE Fastlane, in addition to the aforementioned shows—

In case you didn’t know…

John Cena has been widely regarded as the promotional flag-bearer for the WWE since the mid-2000s until Roman Reigns took over from him last year.

Cena had been wrestling on a part-time schedule all through 2017, and with several Hollywood obligations on his table, his appearances as a WWE in-ring competitor are rare as compared to previous years.

The heart of the matter

The professional wrestling community has been abuzz regarding John Cena’s ‘Special Guest Appearance’ at WWE’s SmackDown brand-exclusive Fastlane PPV in March.

Hours following the aforementioned advertisement, Cena has now been announced for yet another PPV, albeit a RAW-branded event, Elimination Chamber.

Furthermore, with the Elimination Chamber taking place in late February, Cena is also scheduled to appear on the Monday Night RAW tapings a week following the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

What’s next?

The RAW brand-exclusive Elimination Chamber PPV will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on February 25th; with John Cena set to appear at the event. The former WWE Champion will also be on the second RAW tapings after the ‘Chamber, on March 5th.

Meanwhile, Cena will also be at the SmackDown brand-exclusive Fastlane PPV—the final WWE pay-per-view event before Wrestlemania 34—at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on March 11th.

Author’s take

It's highly likely that John Cena's Wrestlemania 34 feud will be greatly influenced by his segments at both the Elimination Chamber PPV and Fastlane.

As John Cena has stated in multiple interviews over the past couple of years, his career as an in-ring competitor may be winding down. Considering that, it’s awesome to still see Cena compete at the highest levels of the sport, not only for RAW but also for the SmackDown brand. The leader of the Cenation’s comeback is eagerly awaited by the WWE Universe.
