From The WWE Rumor Mill: Real meaning behind what John Cena did after No Mercy match revealed

I
Is this goodbye for awhile?

For those who were thinking that a match between John Cena and Roman Reigns wouldn't deliver they were mistaken. Fans of the Big Dog have to be happy with Reigns' performance in the battle at No Mercy. After all, he kicked out of four Attitude Adjustments.

Although the match did have its fair share of slow points the ending came out of nowhere. Roman Reigns hit another Superman Punch and followed it with a spear for the win.

It was a clean and decisive victory for the Big Dog and it more than secured his position in the company when it comes to where Vince McMahon sees him. But after the match was over Cena raised Roman's arm in victory and then took a seat in the ring.

After Roman Reigns made his exit up the ramp, John Cena looked up at the lights and had an appearance of deep thought.

Finally, John Cena got up and looked at the WWE Universe. While they chanted "thank you, Cena," he bowed to them. Big Match John then exited the ring and gave his armband to a kid at ringside before making his slow exit up the ramp.

The look in his eyes and the mood the entire ending gave off would lead some to believe this could be the last time we'll see John Cena in a WWE ring for a bit. After all, Hollywood is calling him pretty strongly at this point. He is set to star in a Transformers rip-off movie on Bumblebee and will be out of action for a while.

The reason behind the whole segment was to write Cena off TV for some time.

John Cena might have needed to do one more thing before taking off and that was put over Roman Reigns. These two have a legit rivalry behind the scenes and even if John Cena doesn't think Reigns is ready to pick up the heavy ball and run with it, the company might need the Big Dog more than ever right now.
