In case you didn’t know...

Owens and Jericho have had one of the most exhilarating feuds in recent memory, with the storyline between the two extending all the way back to a few weeks after WrestleMania 32. After the Prizefighter turned on Jericho at the Festival of Friendship, the former Universal Champion also defeated Y2J to win his first US Title at WM33 in Orlando.

The heart of the matter

Owens discussed his attack on Jericho with Renee Young and Shane McMahon. Surprisingly enough, KO didn't seem as hostile towards Shane as he was towards Young which was odd given Owens’ past with McMahon. Owens stated that he felt as if Jericho disrespected him by calling SmackDown Live ‘his’ show, answering the question of whether or not he felt as if he went too far with his assault.

What’s next?

Kevin Owens is all set to defend the United States Championship against AJ Styles at Backlash, with many fans believing that the feud has the potential to be contested for the World Title. Moving forward, it seems as if Owens’ Face of America gimmick will see him hold onto the belt for quite some time – potentially all the way up until WrestleMania 34.

Author’s take

Owens being on Talking Smack is just great for everyone involved because the guy is money on the microphone. He’s one of the most well-rounded performers on the roster, and his appearances on the show could eventually lead to a bout with Shane McMahon at some point down the line. Obviously, some people aren’t overly keen on seeing that, but Shane proved at Mania that he can still put on a solid performance in the ring.
